Who's even going to buy their stupid shit? All China has to do is copy their products, and it sell cheaper.
America is so over it's unreal.

Tariffs are the economic equivalent of pissing your pants to stay warm—a short-term cope that only makes things worse. The idea that slapping a tax on imports will somehow resurrect 1950s America is peak boomer brain rot, a fantasy peddled to people who still think "Made in USA" means something. America did this to itself—it sold out, offshored its industry, let Wall Street gut the real economy, and now wants to blame China and Mexico instead of its own corporate parasites. These tariffs aren’t some 4D chess move; they’re a pathetic, desperate tantrum from a country that can’t compete anymore. The factories aren’t coming back, the jobs aren’t coming back, and all this does is make Americans pay more for the same Chinese-made crap while pretending it’s a "win" for the economy.
Meanwhile, China, India, and Mexico are watching this meltdown with popcorn in hand, knowing that America is too bloated, lazy, and cucked by its own bureaucracy to fix itself. Even if some manufacturing trickles back, it’ll be fully automated, meaning the “good American jobs” people dream about won’t exist. And the best part? Corporations will just pass the price hikes to consumers, so average Americans get double-fisted—first by higher prices, then by inflation making their wages worthless. This isn’t economic nationalism; it’s a corpse twitching, an empire in denial that its best days are long behind it. The U.S. didn’t get "screwed by foreign trade"—it bent over willingly for short-term profits, and now it’s just throwing a hissy fit because the bill has come due.
and it sell cheaper.
welcome to tariffs 101
If you charge China money to sell it's cheap shit, the cheap shit becomes expensive and people will stop buying it.
woah is this real art? can I save this picture?
Who's even going to buy their stupid shit?
Americans. Y'know, same people that were buying the stupid Chinese shit.
All China has to do is copy their products, and it sell cheaper.
Right. "and sell it cheaper" - can't do that with the tariffs. That's the entire fucking point of the tariffs. "Cheap" Chinese shit will no longer be "cheap" - it might still be cheap for the Chinese to manufacture, but it won't be cheap for anyone in America to buy, because of the tariffs.
When the "cheap" Chinese knock-off shit costs the average American buyer the same (or near enough) as a locally American-made product, the average American has no incentive to pick the Chinese product instead. The only reason they ever did was the cheaper price tag. Without that, the Chinese product can't compete.
Unless Chinese manufacturing starts churning out products that are genuinely higher quality, there's no reason for Americans to keep buying them.
I'm talking about China selling to the rest of the world. Americans will probably start buying buying via vpn online.
Yes but you can't just keep pushing consumer prices higher and higher, domestic has to become lower at the same time or else low and middle income people are gonna find their dollars don't go as far as they used to, and I haven't seen anything to address this yet
Okay, but what if America doesn't make the product? Or the American made product is far more expensive? This sounds like I get screwed either way
I'm talking about China copying American products and then selling to the world that have no tariffs or low tariffs against them.

Good points. American consumerism is going to get hit bad no matter how you look at it. I've seen no evidence or investment from the MAGA people to say the tariffs will be a benefit. It's all "whataboutism" and coping from MAGA's.
trump never wanted to bring manufacturing back the the us, he just want a trade deal
Do you not understand the difference between paying an Asian worker $90 a week and an American worker $1000 a week? The extent to which you need to use tariffs would effectively destroy the industry until the countries collapse into an agrarian society
Where do you sheltered children get your notions of what a modern factory looks like?
countries collapse into an agrarian society
Ok.
Something, Something, H1B?
lol
blacks and Jews are destroying society
so I guess I better do it too
the countries collapse into an agrarian society
one could only hope.

using this character should just be an automatic 3-day ban
It's time for Americans to do their own clothing and farm their own food!
What the fuck does the VPN do, Nigger? Its the destination which is determinate, not the ordering location.
we have higher productivity numbers, our labor goes further.
Germany also manufactures stuff, they aren't paying sweatshop wages. Because it's not necessary to
Nah, there is a way you can order shit online using fake addresses. They deliver to a post office or courier store.
REEEE it's iterally slavery!
What's mom serving you for supper tonight?
You're missing the point. Germany has free trade with most of Europe. Americans can produce, but how are they going to sell their products if there are high tariffs? Not to mention the bad reputation it is getting globally. Countries will simply look to trade elsewhere.
Germany is skilled labor, they make cars. This plan is not going to work
You're going to starve without 60IQ goblins picking your crops.
It's amazing that Anon Babble has finally been conquered. X is the new Anon Babble
No, you won't but you could do higher value shit while they do the low value job
Enjoy poverty
This same botshit is posted every day.
Enjoy poverty
Without sounding like an ass-blasted Pajeet, explain to me how I'm going to become impoverished.
america
america
At some point you retards have to realize america is not the world. Your big brained takes on this revolve entirely around america being an economic super power as we move forward. America does buy a lot of shit from china. But china is moving quickly to find new trading partners. Partners that were unfathomable only weeks ago. The global economy is changing drastically. And alot of the people arguing for the tariffs do so with the idea the america is going to be the defacto economic super power country forever.
unrelated
It's also crazy to me people are under the impression you can just build up manufacturing rapidly. You can not do that effectively quick without compromising the integrity of your work force and your enviorment and a crazy amount of overreach. To replace the goods we purchase from china with American manufactured goods is practically impossible. I mean just from a standpoint of manpower we are defacto a 1/3 as efficient. Even more so when you compare the expected standards of living and employment and American worker demands vs what the Chinese workers is fine with.
By the time you bought land. Got permits. Gathered building materials(many of witch you will import) cleared the land. Built the building. Hired a staff. Trained a staff. Sourced your supply chain. Found a buyer you already nearing another election. There's more inventive to wait 3 years than there is to put hundreds of millions if not billions into manufacturing operations. It just does jot make sense.
Maga and conservatives love to talk about immigrants. Like Venezuelans. They know the Venezuelans exist. But they don't understand these people are working factory jobs and warehouse jobs American works don't want already. So what happens when they go? You cannot expand manufacturing in america with closed borders. Its impossible. It's a pipe dream.
I'm not doing to repeat myself. I'm fed up of saying the same shit to you retards for nothing. If you really give a shit read it here
Id 3oykRu3k
when you have an excess of labor, you spam labor. That's how those asian countries are working. There's other ways to do it.
Instead of a conveyer belt, 100 people in a line. That's the asian way
Americans are too entitled and lazy to do the type of work that low wage manufacturing countries do
What type of work do you suppose is typical in a modern shoe factory?
Read the twitter react thread I posted using a memeflag if you want to hear more of my hot takes.
No.
I would rather work in a factory 40 hours a week and buy discount shoes from the factory I work at than continue whatever this fake economy is.
Enjoy poverty then
Retard
The entire world economy is tied to our economy and currency. You are coming with us nigger. We will always be the richest people above all of you. That’s why you are all mad about the tariffs.
This. It'll take a year minimum to even have jobs and factories set up to even establish US goods plus the companies are not gonna make these jobs high paying and Americans already view those jobs as beneath them or lower class and even if they did have jobs it'll be small cause it'll majority be automated and set to the tariff taxed prices.
Then those companies will get fucked by tariffs and the companies that do the right thing will be rewarded.
No you can't it's my NFT.
Humanity is going to have to figure out a different way for the majority to "earn their keep" other than degrading depersonalized labor (which is increasingly being automated away completely). The scheme where the majority debase themselves to acquire currency in order to pay taxes under the penalty of jail time has nearly run its course. It had a good few hundred years. At this point most people are working "just because." The abstractions are failing and it's going right back to "participate so you have cash to pay taxes." Life is falling to 18th century standards due to lack of creativity and the inability of those in power to relinquish control.
If we can’t survive without shitskin slave labor we don’t deserve to exist.
It’s not necessarily that I oppose slavery from a moral standpoint. It’s just that I’ve noticed theres a trend throughout history of societies that depend on slavery collapsing from constant skirmishes with their captive work force. Uprising after uprising, its unsustainable. Your slaves will constantly undermine you until you free them.
Know who you don’t have to worry about as much? Fairly compensated laborers with full rights and privileges of citizenship, right in your country. Sure you’ll have individuals try suing employers from time to time and sure they unionize, but thats not as much of an existential threat as legions of grossly underpaid slaves constantly plotting to overthrow you, which is basically the whole story of the China-US relationship ever since we made the mistake of tsking them up on their offer to put a yoke on their billions of citizens and have them pull the plough of our corporations. They’ve slent decades stealing our IP, withholding labor as leverage even withholding the product we’re paying their leadership to oversee the production of.
Fuck the chink slaves.
Who says Americans don’t want these jobs?
Americans will spend eight hours in the sewers if you pay us what that labors worth. We want the jobs, just not the dogshit pay they’re offering to foreigners.
Slant eyed shill thread...
Chinkers gonna get chinked
High standard of living and competitive manufacturing are mutually exclusive. You can't pay people enough money to buy the things they make, if you want the items to be cheap enough to export. China can suppress wages, manipulate currency, limit their citizen's legal ability to move, in order to create a net export economy. The majority of individual Chinese people have their standard of living intentionally suppressed in order to support the great collectivist plan of 'China.' They cannot buy the things they make and export. Even the great social democratic utopias like Sweden offshore their labor. Manufacturing is a Ponzi scheme. You have to find the next desperate group of people willing to accept the low standard of living which is factored into the marginal profit of the product. The lower the margins, the lower the standard of living. Textiles have moved fully to third world hellholes. From the first world at the advent of the Industrial Revolution, down to African orphans with flies in their eyes, in just a few hundred years. Soon the technology to automate textile manufacturing will cheaper than even an African orphan and a human being will never touch it again.
Companies have no incentive to "do the right thing". They'll only do what makes them the most money. Nothing more, and country be damned.
What percentage of your COGS at a modern factory is labor cost?
We are going to, as it will always be cheaper to buy American than to import something else from overseas, due to having to pay for boats that we don't have to with the US.
Yeah, working out so well with all the fighter jets they copied.
i hope it accelerates the political decline and finally brings us the age of full on capitalism. goverments have been completly obsolete for a while yet people are not catching up that coorporations have so much power and influence over the people they can pretty much do whatever they want. its funny seeing things like the EU threaten amazon with a ban or trump threatening a tiktok ban its like the leech trying to kill its host.
The thing is guys, that these money men only want SHORT TERM PROFITS!!!
not long term profits. The did it to Sears, GE, Boeing, Hertz, RadioShack, Frys, Kmart, etc. It's basically impossible because they want profits now not long term shit. Trump is also old so they have time to wait.
Its a good idea for Canada, Mexico and USA but the money men wont do the right thing. America runs on scamming each other.
Nah the chink product will just double in price and americans will still buy them because the american version doesn't exist or cost quadruple the amount. You can't fight production efficiency with economic tricks if people are able to choose.
Okay, you replaced the majority of human cogs with machines. How many net jobs is that for Americans? This is presented as a grand project to get the blue collars back on their feet. This framing of this conversation vacillates between manufacturing as a segment of the national economy, and manufacturing as a job that lazy ass Billy Bob can get so he stops collecting welfare. The BLS already reports a surplus of jobs and yet nobody can get one.
That goes back to my original point that we're going to have to think up a different means of economic organization and moralization if the bottom 50% are replaced by machines but still have to "earn their keep." The same idea that the majority will be unable to purchase the products made still holds. Only instead of their wages being so low they can't afford it, it's that they are non-participants in the economy and thus don't have any money with which to purchase the things being made by robotic arms.
