HOLY DOGSHIT

Coal is more expensive than green energy sources and only continues to exist via massive government subsidy the way it does here

Yeah, it’s a retarded source of energy for the era we live in. Guy should’ve just invested in nuclear instead

It's funny because it's true. I wonder how terrified Vietnamese leaders were when Nike executives walked up, pointed guns at their heads and demanded they call Trump.

Kek, yuropoors seething. Greece isn't white btw.

No.
Germany is currently KILLING THEIR MANUFACTURING by restricting coal and nuclear energy and driving up energy prices.
Evidently Trump is trying to become the opposite of Germany.

EUROBROS
WE MUST BUY ALL THE ENERGY

t. retards who believe whatever the (((experts))) tell them

If coal is expensive why are India and China doing it?

TO REPAY...
THE MARSHALL PLAN

Look at all those fat "coal workers". My gradad worked the mines and he was skinny-strong without an ounce of fat. Those niggers he put up there don't really work. Also nuclear is the way to go in geographically safe areas. Remove niggers from unstable and high-risk natural disaster zones who welfare leach insurance money from the taxpayer. Coal is old news.

And remember Viets...
AMERICA IS THE NEW CHINA

bvu7.png - 1238x539, 104.22K

Everyone should have invested in everything. I want to see it revealed that big coal has been in control this entire time sabotaging all other energy.

Of course they don't work, they're probably unionized. We gotta bust the unions and get these lazy faggots back to hard work

China

Coal

China’s pouring tens of billions into nuclear buddy. Sure, they copied French nuclear designs to a T, but that’s take away from anything

Nah, Germany doesn,t like coal anymore.

In Hamburg, Germany, they tried to blow up the modern Moorburg coal-fired power plant, the construction of which cost 3 billion euros. However, the demolition did not go according to plan — the explosives worked only in one of the two boiler rooms.

The Moorburg coal-fired power plant with a capacity of almost 1.5 GW was the most modern and efficient in Germany and cost 3 billion euros. However, she worked for only six years. Due to the government's green policy on the development of renewable energy sources, the thermal power plant was closed in 2021. And in March it was decided to demolish it. However, the work did not go according to plan.

China

China is doing everything on full blast because they have enormous demand but green energy sources are increasing as a proportion of their infrastructure. They hit 32% renewable last year when which is close to double their % in 2011.

India

Jeets are retarded, the fact they're still doing coal is a good indicator we shouldn't be

China

Coal

Pick two retard
Google it if you have to

posts chart showing Coal is quite clearly the bedrock of the cheap energy in China

still doubles down on his claims of the opposite

Outstanding pilpul anon

If Drumpf will force EU to drop Green Deal and Fit for 55, he will become my fucking hero.
I just want to drive a fucking diesel car!!!

I never claimed they're not using coal though

Green parties are actual traitors and you should do something about them.

Bunch of low IQ wagies in the background. Fuckign suckers.

If coal is more expensive, why is China - the place with a reputation for cheap energy, using Coal more than any other source?
Are they just doing it for fun?
They just love Coal so they pay extra for it?

You're a retard, stop believing everything the smooth talking faggots tell you on the TV.

They're using coal proportionally less and less as time goes by. Do you think switching to renewables means shutting off every coal power plant at once before you've even built their replacements? Countries don't change their entire electrical grid in a year unless you do something retarded like Germany.

See how the coal line is still going up?
Why?
Just for fun?
They just subsidize the coal for the love of it?

You're a retard.

Coal is basically free energy dug out of the ground. It is vastly cheaper than wind turbines and can be used to make steel which wind turbines cannot.

Because the benefit of increased power generation to a manufacturing giant offsets the difference in price between renewables and coal but renewables are still obviously cheaper which is why they're an increasing share of their electricity grid.

Instead of being the most retarded nigger Aus boomer imaginable why not conceive of a version of this country that isn't an Africa tier joke? Pathetic waste of space make sure to vote coalition

Because the benefit of increased power generation

Do renewables not generate power then?

China was used as my example because they have FAR CHEAPER ENERGY PRICES THAN ANY WESTERN COUNTRY WITH A HIGH INVESTMENT IN RENEWABLES

It's not free energy at all. Coal power plants are extremely expensive to start with.
The high cost of coal as a power source has been proven in multiple different countries numerous times. Nobody seriously even tries to argue it's more cost efficient, they try to argue something to do with baseload power which is what the retarded Aus boomer ITT is trying to do but lacks the vocabulary for.

The high cost of coal as a power source has been proven in multiple different countries numerous times

Lets look at the proof shall we?

cheap coal electricity in China and India

expensive green energy in Germany and the rest of Europe

Wow great proof! Keep believing everything the ABC tells you.

Renewables generate power more cheaply but when you're an industrial giant looking to produce as much electricity as possible then you'll build as many power plants as possible. It's not like building one coal plant means NOT building a solar farm.

Instead of building one solar farm and one coal plant, why not just build TWO solar farms if the solar is cheaper?

That's not proof, that's muddying the waters by bringing into consideration a billion other nation specific factors that have nothing to do with $/kWh. The level of subsidies or environmental regulation in the EU can easily affect the price.

Coal is more expensive than Solar and Wind though, the non-meme ones like FV pannels and wind turbines at least, the problem is that in order to have a reliable power supply you need generators capable of operating at any time, Solar produces energy for 8 hours and Wind turbines can only operable between a fixed range of wind speed, the Coal power plant on the other hand can operate 24/7 at maximum power as long as you can pump coal into it, and besides, there's a bunch of other parameters required to operate a power grid like inertia and extra power to balance the load and the generation which Renewables simply can't do effectively and not having them will fuck up your grid electrical frequency and resilience against any kind of of failure, the chinaman works 24/7 which is why you need a stable source of power, for that you have to pick between Coal, Gas, Diesel and Nuclear, and Coal is the cheapest of those

In the real world coal is cheap and renewables are expensive.

solar is cheaper as long as you don't want to make it actually useable

Wow great!

You don't have proof of this. International comparisons are meaningless unless you're willing to consider the myriad ways different laws, regulations, and governmental policies will affect the price. When this is done, renewables come out cheaper.

I actually did some digging and found most coal plants in China are funded by coal mining companies and China maintains a high level of subsidisation for coal power plants. When the state decides to put its fingers on the scale then coal is competitive, the same way it is here, but without subsidies coal gets btfo.

akshually Chinese, the place with the cheapest energy, are just using coal for fun

they are subsidising it, even though it is more expensive, because they are just coal enthusiasts

Listen to yourself lad.

Its usable for a third of the day what do you mean?

Congrats you saved like 2000 jobs total. If you don't scrub the exhaust emissions fully, I'll turn the Whitehouse into the ash house

This argument cuts both ways you realise. If coal is so much cheaper then you're necessarily arguing that China is building renewables at a greater rate than coal 'for fun'.

>they are subsidising it, even though it is more expensive

Of course, if it's highly subsidised then you get cheaper manufacturing

You can't read your own graph, as expect from a retard.
Coal energy production is growing faster than any other source on that graph.

The graph shows coal at 90% of all power generation until the past 10 years when it decreases to 60%

Also you haven't answered my question
Why is China building renewables at all if coal is so much cheaper? Why would they even bother? They should just use coal all the time right?

See how the coal line has gone up more steeply than any other line?
Are you too much of a brainlet to understand your own graph?

See how coal was 90% of the graph and is now 60%?
Why isn't it at 90% all the time?

Why are you avoiding the question anon?
Could it be that you can't stand your own retarded rhetoric?
Coal IS cheaper right? So why is China building so many renewables?

Try Sky news' YouTube channel to find your latest cope, aus boomer nigger.

It is vastly cheaper than wind turbines

Nah. A bucket of coal may be cheaper than building a wind turbine, sure, but once you use that bucket, it's gone and you have to get another one...forever. So over time, the continued investment in labor, equipment, transportation, and pollution/smoke mitigation, makes it way more expensive than wind, solar, hydro, etc. The markets moved away from it for a reason.

Why is the country with the cheapest electricity still increasing coal electricity production faster than any other form of electricity production if coal is more expensive?

still no answer for the third post in a row

Again, WHY is China building anything but coal? I really want to know!

still increasing coal electricity production faster

They aren't though, I already told you, coal has fallen to 60% of their electrical grid which is visible from the graph. Renewables have grown year on year.

windmills never need maintenance or replacement

Brainlet.
Markets with cheap electricity didn't move away from coal, only markets with artificially expensive electricity did.

literally too stupid to read the graph or understand percentages

Coal powered electricity production is increasing faster than any other form of electricity production on that graph.

continuous increase in demand and short term/long term offset costs
solar costs more now and is nearly free later
coal is cheap now so it can be used to fulfill the short term increased demand caused by their fast-growing population

It's not increasing faster than cumulative expansion of renewable energy which is why the total share of coal in China's electricity grid continues to fall, pic related is also reflected in that chart

Okay I answered your question yes? Now answer mine?
WHY is China building renewables if they're so expensive?

Based coal being cheaper and easier to build than renewables

Oh so then why does China build renewables?

Brainlet.

Markets with cheap electricity didn't move away from coal, only markets with artificially expensive electricity did.

It's astonishing how retarded you are. Try to fathom the concept of an abundance of every energy type not existing within the geographic boundaries of every nation. In the US, we have an plenty of oil (and we've been the largest producer for many years now), natural gas (we even export LNG), and LAND, which can support options such as solar, wind, and nuclear. A shitty little island of people with bad teeth like the UK may still need coal, because you have little else, but the US does not.

They are building coal faster

They import our coal you retard

China knows that coal is what makes their air so awful and they need to get off it asap.

My only hope is that they keep this retard coal shit in Trump country in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, the rest of the country can enjoy living past 60

doesn't understand percentages

The percentage can still go down while coal production is growing faster than anything else you retard.

he think the tariffs were calculated based on what vietnam tariffs american goods

brainlet.

They import our coal you retard

You're almost there. Think just a bit harder, and maybe you'll get there. Why would a country import coal if it was so "cheap to produce?" Is it because: 1. They don't have enough of it left withing their borders 2. Importing it is cheaper than harvesting it, or 3. Both 1 and 2? YOU CAN DO IT!

We're in a similar situation, we have plenty of land which can support solar, wind, and nuclear but we don't take advantage of it. Coal and the mining industry as a whole have major sway in politics despite our CSIRO and various university studies finding it to be expensive.

They're smart like that. I also found out recently that coal power plants spread more nuclear material into the environment than actual nuclear reactors do.

Not faster than renewables collectively which is what matters because you argued coal is cheaper than renewables.
You're now resorting to hair splitting arguments that don't even amount to a point.

Because our coal, which we sell on the open markets, is the cheapest form of energy you brainlet

Yes coal production is growing faster than both wind and solar combined on your graph.
Get a brain.

Wind and solar only last about 20 to 25 years max. Hydro is the best option at about a hundred years.

It's the Mexico is paying for the wall 2.0

So you'll consider two renewable forms of power generation collectively but not all of them? Nigger what. How dishonest are you?

Because our coal, which we sell on the open markets, is the cheapest form of energy you brainlet

That's great! You're almost there! How much of your coal did you sell to Saudi Arabia for energy production? Since it's so much cheaper than any other energy source they have available, I bet they buy a lot of it!

Reminder that Canada is pretty much already geared to export energy to the US. We have the hydro-electric dams, we could, and do, sell to states like New York.
But no, fucking coal power is what this dumbass decides to go with.

watch me do my imitation of what an american is like, watch this:

"who will help me move around my 5000 pound gas chamber?"

It's only cheap when you ignore the massive increases in health complications and environmental disasters you fucking imbecile.
Coal is not cost-efficient in the long run compared to basically anything other than burning tires.

What other renewables are there retard?
I can't see Hydro on that graph budging in 10 years, except to taper off slightly at the end.
"bioenergy" hasn't done shit.
Look at the steep incline on coal.

I dunno about saudis bruz, but poor countries that need a lot of cheap energy like China and India buy a lot of it (because it's cheap)

goalposts shifted

The expected service life is 25 years for wind 30 for solar. But they can last longer than that.
I don't think it matters too much since they can recoup the money invested into them (and the emissions from manufacturing them) well before the end of their service life. So it's a net postivie.
I like hydro and nuclear too as more long term solutions, but wind and solar are decent short term options.

This is just your inability to add numerous gradients in your head. The macroscopic view is that coal as a total proportion of electricity generation has shrunk and that's shared by the other table I showed you. Your retardation isn't an argument. The writing is on the wall for coal and morons like you are going to ensure this country never goes anywhere by clinging to the past.

All this is irrelevant anyway because you're still a massive coward fleeing from the implications of a shitty bad faith argument you made at the start. You've spent the past 30 minutes or more avoiding my question. There's no point continuing on with a disingenuous faggot like you, especially when I have to watch my own countryman get repeatedly humiliated by an American which, though you deserve, is still painful for me to see, especially because your responses are so pathetically weak and you're too dim to even see it.

Little child, let me explain this to you in a metaphor.
You want to buy two cars. One costs 500 dollars, has a rusted door panels and the exhaust needs to be replaced. The other car costs 2500 dollars but is in perfect condition.
On one hand, you have a "cheaper" car, but it is riddled with problems that will cost thousands to repair.
You could "ignore" the problems, in the sense that you can roll the car down the road for however long the thing lasts before it literally falls apart, but that exposes you to unnecessary risk.
Such risks include being pulled over and ticketed, having your vehicle impounded because it is not road legal, having a higher chance of being injured in a road accident because the vehicle's structure is compromised, etc etc.
The 500$ car will cost you your dignity, your safety, your health and you will be no less susceptible to expensive repair bills.
The 2500$ car will just run. Also it has better gas mileage, so it's fucking cheaper in the long run.

This is the exact same equation for coal vs sustainable energies. The price of entry is lower with coal, but the long term costs are exponentially higher, specifically the costs of medical bills and environmental conservatorship.

Little child, let me explain, I am working with outdated knowledge

Got it.

I believe Chinese propaganda

As expected from an Australian.

I live in a country with hydro-electric dams. All of our electricity that I consume is produced ethically.
Those hydro-dams were built decades and decades ago, and have long since paid themselves off.
I pay less per kilowatt hour than you do.

He's right though, you have to factor in the externalities not just the sticker cost.

Did some quick math, I pay between 2.5 to 6.7 times less per kilowatt hour than you do.
If you factor in the differences between AUD and CAD, where 1 AUD equals to 0.87 CAD, the numbers become 2.9 times to 7.7 times less per kilowatt-hour.

The USA has more deposits of coal than any other country.

I want to see it revealed that big coal has been in control this entire time sabotaging all other energy

Coal sucks and causes asthma.

Why are you comparing AUD to CAD? We use NZD here in New Zealand and hydro-electric dams.

Doesn’t matter, it’s a shit source of energy. Shit, drill for oil and gas, throw money at nuclear, but don’t try to dance around over the fact this is a retarded investment

IMG_0096.png - 497x498, 142.39K

thats a complete lie, as always
the question is why not a single Republicuck has the balls to call him out?

KYS faggots. Anon Babble is a pro-coal and pro-nuclear board. Go back to LGBT

You have the same flag. Blame your uninspired vexillologists.
But since you insist, I will break it down your NZ as well.
I pay 6.678 cents per kilowatt hour. You pay on average 33.06 cents per kw/h.
The NZ dollar is worth 0.8 Canadian dollars, meaning that I pay 6.19 times less per kilo-watt hour.

comparing personal costs to a nations average

Still got us beat, but the stats I see say 19.2 cents average for Canada.

Also got us beat on the amount of coal used for power, using 18 million tonnes while we use .9 million tonnes. But borders, cost of transportation, the size of population and landmass are completely different, so this is a pointless exercise.

I was speaking specifically about Québec, because I am Québecois.

rentfree
what does this have to do with Germany?

Because Deutschland is about retarded as a wheelchair, double-digit IQ, spastic child when it comes to energy policy. Germany does a lot of things right, but when it comes to THAT, you faggots are the poster child of what not to do

Seethe harder
