How about offer companies stuff like:
Land grants
Tax breaks
Various subsidies
Streamlined process to production via a fast lane to clear all necessary paperwork that can normally take years
Build factories yourself and lease them for companies
When you have some initial contracts in place or at bare minimum letters of intent, then you start carefully applying tariffs on selected industries to speed up the return of industry..
That is how you can invite in business in a controlled manner.
Just blanket tariffing everything to shit at practically zero notice is fucking insane.
US has no alternatives for a lot of the stuff they're buying, so the foreign companies can force the US consumer to eat 100% of the tariff cost and even more if they feel like it, because what the hell are they going to do, not buy things that are needed like truck parts for the transportation sector?
This has been the most retarded way of handling the subject I can think of and it's all because Trumps brain, like with all other boomers, is still stuck in the 80s.
