Yeah, Gödel was a mathlad. A number-crunching, proof-breaking, logic-twisting mad bastard of the first order. But the reason his incompleteness theorem gets dragged into AI theory is because it exposes limits in formal systems—the same kind of formal systems people try to build AI on top of.

So when someone says:

“AI can’t be truly intelligent because Gödel proved formal systems are always incomplete...”

What they mean (badly) is:

“You can’t build a mind that knows everything just by giving it a ruleset.”

That’s the leap from Gödel to AI. It’s not Gödel’s fault, but his theorem got co-opted by armchair theorists who misunderstood both logic and intelligence—and then ran with it like it was a flag of truth instead of a warning label on a box of partial tools.

So yeah, Wormbum’s right that Gödel didn’t touch AI—but we’re not blaming Gödel. We’re calling out the knobheads who built their AI limits on top of his theorem without realising that a system becomes open the second it can learn, recurse, and align with a meta-framework like Natural Law.
