Yeah but the claim "the climate is changing" is such a broad one that it can be construed to mean anything that science wants it to at a given time, so it can never be proven wrong. Global warming could be proven wrong since it claimed that the Earth would get hotter, but when that didn't happen, the goalpost got shifted to, "it will get hotter but also colder sometimes" and now we call this phenomenon "climate change" instead (which you capitalized in your post).
The debate then becomes whether or not humanity has a significant influence on changes in the climate. I don't totally know if this is the case, but I know that fluctuations of global temperatures are just a normal occurrence throughout Earth's history. I think that this phenomenon renders most discussion about climate change moot (since it occurs naturally and would continue to occur despite our influence), and also I'd say that the climate changing might even be necessary/beneficial for the proper functioning of the planet. If it's a natural phenomenon, why would we want to, or even think that we could, stop it? Here's where the perverse incentives of the media, politics, and private business that I mentioned in my previous post come into play. All three of these institutions can and do work towards the same end of hyping up public support for green energy in order to profit off of peoples' insecurities about natural disasters.

Yes but it isn't as simple as global warming or cooling or whatever. The magnetic pole is shifting, seasons and storms are becoming more extreme. Winters become colder, summers become hotter. Climates are shifting globally because the heat and cold are moving jet-streams and the water from the arctic and antarctic are making the water currents change. Heat and cold are being redistributed around the globe. This is largely going on regardless of human input, but the excess carbon in the atmosphere is helping speed up the poles warming up, I think. The magnetosphere is probably letting in more solar radiation, too. That's why we've been having gigantic global spanning aurora borealises over the past decade. The sun, the earth, and man are all contributing to climate change, and that's why things are getting weirder, not inherently worse. We can mitigate the damage to our species with advances in food production to keep ourselves from starving to death but the rest of the biosphere may not be so lucky at our expense. That's why so many other species are in danger right now.

Science (anyone really) has a tough time predicting what will happen a couple decades from now to begin with, I'm not about to drastically change my worldview on predictions about billions of years ago. Sure, they have tools and techniques that they use to make these estimations about what the Earth used to be like, but, at the end of the day, they are estimations, not observations, so I take them with a grain of salt. I think that this is a logical stance (especially considering that drastic changes to the economy and society would need to be made in order to combat climate change), but is often drowned-out by sensationalist claims and ginned-up fears about disasters.
I won't say that we can't know anything about the past though. I believe that we have been coming out of an ice age over the past 3,000 years, but I place much more faith in this estimation because it's easier to estimate something that happened 10,000 years ago than it is to estimate 10,000,000 years ago. You can disagree, however.

The climate has been changing for billions of years. The amount of CO2 we as a species produce is inconsequential relative to amount from natural sources, as with methane. These are trace gases in the atmosphere that have little to no effect on temperature when compared with water vapor. Solar output is by far the biggest determination of global temperature and we have no control over it.
We are destroying many environments through resource harvesting, clear cutting the amazon, strip mining mountains, overfishing the ocean, these do have serious consequences and we don't have anyone else to blame but ourselves. The amount of plastic we are producing does appear to be causing significant damage to ourselves and wildlife and aside from some damaging chemicals and industrial byproducts the vast majority of causes labeling themselves environmentalism are an attempt to control energy production and by extension people.
It's a shame all the good causes get lumped in with the CO2 shakedown because it really only destroys the credibility of good people doing good work.
