Drive her to hospital

Get there, staff has all his info, they put us in a room

Family and friends shuffle in, no news

Doctor comes in and starts beating around the bush, mom asks him directly “is my husband dead”

Collect his belongings

No wallet, but hospital staff had his ID and his insurance info somehow

Stepdad cashed paycheck to buy new cabinets later on that day. 800 dollars in his wallet.

Mom contacts state police to see what the deal is (they were part of the first responders)

Mom gets in contact with cop at the scene, he says there was no wallet

Mom calls bullshit, lodges complaint with his boss

State police put officer that was on the scene in charge of investigating himself

3 months pass, wallet mysteriously appears in the middle of the garage floor

The trooper robbed his body at the scene, gave the EMTs his ID and Insurance info and kept the money and the wallet then broke into our garage to get the wallet back to us in such a way that we couldn’t raise any more of a fuss.
