For the 20-something zoomers out there, what was the world like before 9/11?
International input is appreciated.

A 29 year old would've been 4 at the time you fat fuck. There's your international input.
no social media, most manipulation campaigns were made by news networks and influencers didnt existed.
I wasn’t even born when this happened but this makes my heart break :(
op means for the benefit of educating zoomers. you'd have to literally be retarded to not get that.
I was about to to marry my pregnant wife then some boomer flew a plan right into the world trade center
Gah Damn mutts are dned stupid!
They cannot even collect their brains to ask the question properly. That fentanyl must be super effective.
I thought my input was going to be appreciated. Do you always pull the rug from under your allies?
i miss when playing a video loudly in public required $3000 in equipment and an hour to set it all up
Early 30s. I was in the third grade when 9/11 happened. I remember looking up grand theft auto cheat codes on 56k internet, printing them out and sharing them with friends at school.
I was consider slightly weird for not having social media in high school but it was still acceptable. Phones didn’t have internet yet so imagine a phone that only does text and calls.
Arguments were never solved by looking up the answer, if you had an argument about “how fast in an airplane” you would both leave it not knowing the true answer. Now you can fact check everything.
Cars were $400 when I was in high school. I worked for $8 an hour and could buy a car. $5 at taco bell is equivalent to about $17 there right now. Women were always whores but they couldn’t broadcast it. The idea of their reputation being ruined would follow them.
you should be asking millenials, gen x, and boomers you retard zoomers were fetuses and retarded babies before 911, kinda like you are now
some boomer
that's an odd way of saying "Hebrews".
america first NIGGER
Late 90s was peak optimism and comfy
all things considered, the fatality count was pretty low, amazing how many people got out, walking down 90 flights of stairs, the priest giving last rites who got killed by a falling body always got me
People will say better and it was, but it was also like living in a dream. Like everyone was kind of clueless to just how rotted the world actually was getting and then when they had the blanket torn off it was like
Wow how did things get so fucked up so quickly????
But it was already fucked up we just didn't know it because we were ignorant. But it was much much better than it is now things have definitely gotten worse
priest
You mean rabbi? Ain't no "priests, pastors or other cross clergymen" allowed in there.
You could be a local hero by being good at something: guitar, skateboarding,... Watching America's funniest Home Videos happened once a week. Then on the internet you got flooded with videos of 10 000 people who can play guitar better than you or skateboard better than you. And you can see 100 000 hours of funny videos at any given moment. It was less dopamine driven, you had to work for your dopamine shots.
its a testament to FBI et al that the ragheads never got to execute their nuclear dirty bomb plan, that would have been some shit, I wonder how many plots were foiled that we will never know about
You were just a kid who didn’t know anything.
we were fine not knowing stuff. No AI assistance, no google. If you declared something as fact it was your own reckoning and status that made it so. It's why we are all so opinionated and retarded, we decide to be ignorantly wrong because it is our free willed belief to be, not some optimized perfectly summarised fact delivered by a robot that you young bloods seem to rely on.
You should try it, be intentionally wrong on a subject but become right by sheer domination of status among your peers.
nuclear dirty bomb plan
I remember the scaremongering about that. There's even a movie about it with George Clooney and Rene Russo.
20-something fags probably had their episode of Sesame Street interrupted for a Breaking News. They had no idea what was going on.
i'm 33 and my first car was $200.
70's cadillac. mom insisted i upgrade and that was an expensive mistake. i believe the caddy is still on the road somewhere.
Third Party Nintendo 64 games cost 80 Euros. Can you imagine that? Inflation ruined so much.
For the 20-something zoomers out there, what was the world like before 9/11
Midflight you were allowed to go into the cockpit and have a chat with the pilots
It was downhill after Columbine.
9/11 changed nothing but air travel. It was just a false flag to go to war. Everything went to shit the day Obama announced his candidacy for president.
i'll explain this in terms a zoomer retard can understand. see these photos? see that aura? imagine stepping into that photo and being immersed 100 percent in that glorious aura, thats what it was like across america.
9/11 was the catalysts for all of that you retard, no 9/11 no "yes we can warlord barack hussain obama"
I forgot how good image recording quality was already in the nineties. All those years of watching compressed youtube videos skewed my perception of that a bit.
yeah... everything was golden fren...
Jews did 911
Japanese did 7/11
I'm inputting my benis into your moms butthole if you know what I mean.
it was good
there were no niggers in real life
normies didnt have internet
everything was a dollar
41 year old here. While far from perfect, things were better. America had soul. The day 9/11 happened America's spirit died.
how would we know? it was idyllic childhood, which people experience universally outside of palestine even now. one day post-zoomers will insist things were best in the 2020s. and then the next generation, 2030s, and so on. i guarantee you people who were 30 in 2001 would tell you it was all about the 80s and the 90s were terrible. it's the human condition. we are always focused on our youth and beauty, even after it leaves. you know all this is true because a person who was 10 in 2001 will still tell you how great the 2000s were. it was an event like covid, where people performatively signaled their collective feelings with the whole. in truth, 9/11 didn't matter as much as we think it did. it's just a cope for childhood ending, combined and conflated with a legion of stupid faggot boomers crying crocodile tears for the heckin' towers because it was socially beneficial to do so. you know this is true because no one cares about 9/11 now. everyone forgot.
It was great.
Simple as.
I was also on 4th grade, so take that as you will.
For the 20-something zoomers out there, what was the world like before 9/11?
my parents were still together and things were better and happier, nobody hated anybody, identity politics wasn't a big thing (nobody cared about niggers and gays, at all). I was 11 when it happened so I can't say too much. 911 really ruined everything. All of a sudden there was this atmosphere of fear. The whole country got united though and we all felt like we belonged to something bigger. In hindsight it was a massive propaganda push, but it felt good. Then we lied to the world and said iraq had WMDs and in the subsequent digging figured out 911 was bullshit too and now here we are 20 years later still dealing with the fallout. i gtg but picrel is another writeup i did about it.
It's a bit of both. Childhood romantization, but it was also a very diferrent time, culturally. Things moved at a slower pace and were more apart. New York was seen as something of a curiosity, because it had money, skyscrapers and was a melting pot. Now the whole world is a melting pot, only without the money and the skyscrapers.
It's cute that you believe that.
it was like heaven at least in Finland
no niggers
no faggots
no muslims
I was born in 1999, i remember seeing the second plane hit with my dad. I remember my mom comming home and saying "stop watching movies, its not even afternoon" so fuck off with this shit, just because you are a low iq ape with zero cognitive skills doesnt mean others dont remember it.
My parents got me a computer in 2000, and it all went downhill from there.
29YO zoomer here. My father and grandfather worked in the airlines and we could literally just walk right into airport grounds at ATL. I remember going one day and sitting in the cockpit of a 757 that was parked at the DC9 hangar. I remember flying to Disneyland on a DC-10. I remember airport security being very basic in comparison to what it is now.
Outside of flying and aviation I remember people being a lot more casual and less on edge. The world seemed like a lot more chill of a place. I will always remember 9/11 being the turning point of life in America. It was like this huge switch was pulled. Everything became about security, terrorism, war. I mean everything. Video games were the only escape.
obama was the most masterfully astroturfed candidate ever, NPR started with "there's a young senator from chicago with big ideas" and it really was the peak of legacy media manipulation and control. fuck, I voted for him the first time. then he gets into office and gives the banks a blank check, creates isis, creates the arab spring, and overthrows ukraine. not that he was making the decisions, but theres a reason he's so fucking rich now. corrupt nigger.
I think you're looking for a millenial like me bud.
We were just as paniced and scared pre-9/11 except it was all wacko domestic terrorist and florida-man type shit like Waco and OKC bombing.
Basically, we used to do the terror ourselves before Bush outsourced it.
dishearten yourselves with images and footage from December 31 1999 (and earlier)
the world that was, and what could've been
after jews blew those towers they started shipping ragheads to western countries
Man your dad was a bum if he was with you and not at work when they hit.
He was sick with cancer at the time.
what was the world like before 9/11?
pilots were flying with cockpit door open, stewardess noticed me peeking so she invited me in the cockpit and the pilots were ultra friendly... really great time
now the doors are closed whole flight because some retard 9/11 bullshit
I don't think things would be much different if McCain had won. There would be less racism but that's all.
it was the same except people were on crack and heroin instead of meth and fentanyl
It was nice, Godfathers Pizza. Dirt cheap everything. It was cheaper to drive across the U.S than buy an airline ticket. McDonalds had colorful charactered chairs. Chuck E. Cheese used to be fun, the ticket rewards included shit like Diskmen and Gaming systems.
You could rent whatever you wanted for a week at a time. It was simply put, just so damned colorful and amazing.
We had heroin in Belgium. I only learned about crack through television and movies. I always thought of it as a black american ghetto problem. Don't even know if we had it here.
Aren't you a twenty-something yourself? How old are you, anon?
Nothing changed was still a child that didn't travel anywhere or have any money, now an adult that stll has no money and doesn't travel
You could be locally famous just for having something. I got a CD burner when they were a new thing and made nice pocket money burning music and game CDs for all my friends.
9/11 didn't really change much even though people like to pretend it did. The real game changer was widespread internet access (around that time) and then it got fucked once smartphones made it mainstream to all the turbo normies to be online 24/7.
People 1000 years from now will look at that period as the internet era and 9/11 will be just a footnote.
Before 9/11 you could carry anything you want on a plane. Guns, fireworks, babies, dogs, shampoo, shoes, even cigarettes.
Look at all these dirty foreigners talking about it as if they know. I say LOL to that, LOL. Unless every little thing that happens here matters to you? LOL anyway
Imagine being this retarded.
How about (((boomer)))?
True also. Mixtapes were even still a thing in the nineties. I had a radio with a mike and I would record songs off of MTV, so I wouldn't have to wait until the next countdown before I could play them again. I could play them at will. I'd sit in front of the tv and when my favorite songs came on I would just press 'record'. Sometimes the background noises of living in a household would bleed through. Like my mom being busy in the kitchen or my dad making a phonecall. I fucking hated that they ruined my songs like that. CD burners were great. Copying games was already a bit more complicated, but only a little.
They were terroristos and required a free trip to see their western lawyer b4 being free to check out the mall of america
We've been forcefed your shit since we were kids. Admittably, a lot of it was cool. Apart from that, we had our own identity as well. You on the other hand are a mutt from the moment you wake up untill the moment you go to sleep. We have lives outside of that.
Projection
By failing to give a rational objection to my argument, you have exposed yourself as the real retard here. Thanks for playing.
How would fucking 20 something year olds remember something that happened almost 30 years ago, retard?
Yea that's true but it goes to the point that it was the internet that changed everything. 9/11 wasn't a big deal.
It's nice to have a marker. The truth is a lot more intricate and an overlapping of things.
The real retards are the ones who misunderstood. I meant for the older crowd to explain to the 20-somethings what the world was like before 9/11
There's still no smell-o-vision. I can't just smell your intent. You're going to have to use punctuation marks next time or at least phrase it differently. I thought you were trolling.
the era of peace and american hegemony. You guys were supposed to bring us to space, lead the world. It was better times indeed. Tho locally poland is in a totally different place entirely, we still benefit from the "90s american world"
truth is
1987 the made the manufacturing of full auto machine guns no longer a right
9/11 was the cherry on top of centuries of glownigger magic all started with the fake revolution of 1776
True
Uhh before 9/11 it was all about pokemon after 9/11 nobody gave a shit
oh and the history channel got super kino with documentaries about Hitler's wives and the great American military kicking ass to convince all the football players in high school to sign up for le meme on terror
atlfag here also careful of the niggers they're getting uppity in midtown at the chevron on ponce
