Trying to establish a monarchy would be unconstitutional and therefor illegal. You could be elected president, but the moment you'd try to form a monarchy is the moment the army would overthrow you.

I doubt they will gain any traction in America. If America is going to have a king it's going to be Donald Trump and through a bloody civil war. I think Trump is now dismantling all federal institutions and also the military so he can become king. I heard he was going to declare martial law on 4/20 of this year which is in 9 more days. We will just have to see if that is true.
