No, it's not normal for men to live at home with their parents when they are adults. Not for the women's sake, but for the men's sake. I'm post 30 and I have many friends around the same age and I can see a huge significant difference between friends that still live at home with their parents and friends that had left to live on their own. My wife is Spanish and I lived there for a few years, and in addition to the Peter Pan syndrome there is simply no cultural impetus to move out on your own. Families are much closer than in northern countries; it's typical to spend an entire Saturday or Sunday just chilling and having lunch with your nuclear and extended family for example. Your social life always takes the backseat to your family life in spain. For anglos and germanics this is inconceivable.

But the splitting the bill thing is very annoying IMO.
