History is interesting and certainly important, but not a field of study where you learn about yourself at least not for common people.
Aren't you the guy telling me how important it is to be connected to your ancestors and now you're saying history is not important to learning about yourself. History helps you learn about your country, the development of your culture, your race, ideologies in the world, etc. What are you talking about?
An American born to sn American family (3 generations at least) visiting another part of America is perfectly fine
Why? If they have no connection to Wyoming why should they visit? Just because they spent three generations in Delaware?
unless you can demonstrate how engaging in hedonistic travels further your family and race it remains a waste of time and money.
I can say the same about literally any activity ever.
You don't need to go to the brothel to talk to a whore, we are talking and no one has moved
We are talking because we both are on Anon Babble and speak english. We have self selected. Going to some village in the Andes I'll meet people I would never have a chance of meeting online in any meaningful way. Getting invited by strangers to stay at their house is something we can't do online.
I can assure you there is little to learn from a whore in a brothel.
I disagree. I bet whores live way more interesting lives than a lot of people. It might be a sad depressing life. But I'd probably rather read about the experiences of a whore than some guy who never lives his town and works a boring monotonous job.
Ultimately you learn about yourself from others and your neighbour or a stranger on a bus
Agreed but there is utility in being in contact with people who are totally different from you as well.
