What would they get by reverse engineering a faulty weapon?

Aren't missiles just figured out at this point

Remember the RQ-170 Sentinel? turned into an entire Shahed drone family in Iran

Another day of endless wins courtesy of the Zion Don administration

Who cares? Let them have their toys that, by US standards are decades old. You think about cares about a weapon, with a known failure rate that requires manual delivery into the drop zone? Iran doesn't have the capability to deliver GBUs of any substance at anyone that actually matters. So what, pissrael gets something to shoot at when Iran gets feisty.

They will also reverse engineer that.

Yeah bro they're definitely gonna reverse engineer all the software that makes it so deadly.

reverse some generic cruise missile

for what purpose? the propulsion and inertial nav system is probably the only semi-valuable thing and those would likely be lost after blowing up or crashing.

It's not even a missile
It's just a guided gravity bomb

All of this is simply theater to justify invading Yemen to get our equipment back, thereby going full on war with Iran.

Well they could still learn valuable information or develop countermeasures from its components. It can hover and hunt for a target, that alone makes it worth it

These bombs don't do any of that. They're laser guided in by either a loitering aircraft, or someone on the ground aiming a laser. What makes them threatening is the guidance package coupled with the ability to actually deploy them accurately. No laser or GPS coordinates, no target.

You think about cares about a weapon

These bombs don't do any of that

They do actually

it's junk

let's reverse engineer it

the sandnigger mindset

Guided descent isn't loitering. They have no propulsion. Again, what makes them so scary is the delivery package. That F35 can be at 35000 feet, see you from 40 miles away and guide that bomb in, on top of your head, or tell the bomb to drop on a specific target parameter. Without the guidance system, they're just another bomb. It's in the name, GBU, glide bomb, they don't propel themselves or do much of anything without parameters set by the launch platform.

In 2011 an RQ-170 of the CIA was hacked by Iranians and was landed in Iran which resulted in the reverse engineered Shahed 171 Simorgh. Again, duds happen. Doesn't mean you can't capitalize on it to bolster your own arsenal. Btw. Iranians are not "sandniggers"

coincidentally no one saw that iranian copy fly
imagine my shock

BASED!
TOTAL AMERICAN DEATH!

They're laser guided in by either a loitering aircraft, or someone on the ground aiming a laser.

Even walleye TV guided glide bombs from the 1960s could optically track targets entirely internally with no radio link or other kind of target designation. True fire and forget, implemented using analogue circuitry.

You're telling me these modern glide bombs don't have any fire-and-forget capability? Sounds like bullshit.

Without the guidance system, they're just another bomb. It

If they recovered it with a damaged (but partially intact) guidance system, it could still reveal important information. Even if tamper-resistance is there, hardware analysis (chip design, materials, sensors) could still give Iran hints about:

miniaturization of components

radar or infrared seeker tech

electronic countermeasure resistance

It’s hard but not impossible if they have good engineers.
Also, you are forgetting that the GBU-53 has an advanced networking capability (data link) that technology might interest countries like Iran even more than just the glide itself.

oh no they'll be able to produce glide bombs for the planes they don't have

PLEASE PLSEASE OH MY OI VEYS PLEASE FILTHY GOYIM MAERICAN UNDERSTAND YOU HAVE TO COME TO WAR WITH IRAN PLEASE WE NEED MONEY TO KILL MORE CHILDREN PLEASE WE RE THE CHOSEN PEOPLE GREATEST PEOPLE PLEASE SEND PLANES I GOT PICTURES OF YOU HAVING SEX WITH KIDS PLEASE COME TO IRAN PLEASE

They still have target parameters set by the delivery platform. This particular one has a semi-autonomous mode apparently that can just seek out specific signatures, such as thermals but they still have guide parameters. They're not fully autonomous, or able to maintain altitude on their own accord as that other anon was suggesting. The US pretty well said no to fully autonomous weaponry, at least publically. These bombs don't pick their own target completely on their own, they're told what they can and can't drop on, either through their seeker or from the aircraft, and only very specific targets.

That is what makes them powerful, the delivery platform, not the guidance package specifically. Every country with a military has ways of guiding their bombs and missiles, that's not the unique part.

Guided descent isn't loitering.

It also lacks the psychological component of announcing its arrival. An artillery shell could take you out equally but at least that one whistles on approach ... you gotta consider effects on the target audience, ffs!! That is why the BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT is such an efficient weapon platform imo.

IF YOU DONT KILL IRAN WE SEND MORE ALLAH AKBAR TERRORIST ATTACKS COME TO IRAN IF YOU U DONT IRAN WILL ATTACK AMERICA THEY ALLY WITH CHINA IRAN IS ENEMY COME PLEASE KILL ALL ARABS PLEASE ITS LIGHT VERSUS DARKNESS PLEASE THEY WILL COME INVADE YOU AND EVERYTHING SEND MORE PLANES NEED COME TO IRAN AFTER THEY RE DONE WITH US THEY COME TO YOU

>They still have target parameters set by the delivery platform.

Yeah of course, but after the target is designated the weapon should be able to fly itself there without a datalink or laser designation to guide it in.

fucking based lmao

They don't fly, they freefall using the winds and control surfaces to guide that descent, but yes, that's essentially what they do. They're JDAMs on steroids. The glide factor is what allows the delivery platform to not only drop from much greater distances, but also to do so outside of conventional AAA range.

When I got out of college a decade ago I looked into jobs at all the big defense companies. The pay was really low, so I never applied. I'm not surprised their shit fails a lot, they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

...it's a fucking glide bomb, it's not advanced at all lmfao...you'd have to be Russian or Iranian to think this is something special or worth giving a shit about.

it's not loitering
it's a glide bomb
it can autonomously target vehicles like brimstone which is pretty rudimentary with just radar but it has also thermal and IR
it's primary use is striking a target the pilot locked with the major difference to its predecessor - the target can be on the move
iranians are sandniggers
and the RQ-170 was described as having low tech stealth even before the iranians got their hands on one
because it was at had high risk of being captured
and thus the only ones that cared about the iranian copy were iranians

Imagine getting stabbed and trying to spin it as a win because the knife is a millennia-old invention and you have a laser gun at home

You can make it better.

They don't fly,

They do fly, as gliders fly. They don't do POWERED flight.

"Flying" implies the ability to stay aloft. Glide bombs will hit the ground eventually. Gliding is not flying, they're 2 totally different concepts. Gliders have to be recovered, or in this case, detonate. Gliding is just a fancy way of saying "controlled descent".

looks like China gets new tech then, FFS

guidance software isn't complex, it's mostly pid loops and extended kalman filters with a decent dynamics model for good feed forward controls
the hard part is the inertial measurement unit. figuring out that hardware is a trick, and the companies that produce them closely guard the technology

Flying is just falling with style

IMG_9582.gif - 400x215, 560.5K

They’re going to reverse engineer the fact that our weapons might be retarded

How about instead of BRRRRRRRRRT it's KABOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM times infinity because you can carry hundreds of the kaboomers?

reverse engineers whatever the fuck that is

builds 10,000 of them for 1/10th of the price

drops them all on israel

iran greatest ally

Gliding is not flying

Yes it is. This is why the term "powered flight" exists, to distinguish it from gliding.

With 90% of them failing to detonate, with the other 10% being shot down and the US having to pay to replenish the anti-air missiles expended. And the world goes 'round.

pretty sure these have already been captured in jewkraine and all the technical specs have been shared
keep in mind this is the latest amerimutt technology

Trump is a Russian traitor and is probably doing this intentionally as a way to leak US military secrets. Probably landed the thing on an airstrip for them.

Please wait a while before making a post

I guess this is how we know that 99% of the posting here is now AI bots.

Who cares? Let them have their toys that, by US standards are decades old

Storm breaker is the second gen sdb, it was new in service less than 5 years ago

Lmao, they have more stealth drones than we do. And from all appearances they perform better too. Oh and the GBU-53 is our top of the line aerial bomb. It is meant for use with stealth aircraft and is hardened against EW. Losing one means the houthis EW game (Iran’s) is going to kick up a notch.

Oh, and the Houthis just caused us to lose another F-18. And have kept the Red Sea closed.

Iran

government funds MIT engineering degree for smartest students

USA

gives MIT scholarship to a guy who wrote NIGGER 1000 times on his acceptance form

We are fucked

reverse engineering

They will sell to China, who can actually reverse engineer it and give them boatloads of weapons they actually can and know how to use

Are you stupid
Even MIT tried stopping Iranian students from studying nuclear engineering but Obama forced them to teach them.

guidance software isn't complex, it's mostly pid loops and extended kalman filters with a decent dynamics model for good feed forward controls

Anon gets it, that part requires only programmers and high school level physics. The majority of the work can be simulated. Well within the capabilities of a country like Iran

Read "Superiority" by Arthur C. Clarke.
Realize this is exactly the mentality the U.S. and NATO as a whole exhibit.
Then laugh.

234.png - 867x685, 49.25K

If you think that the US has used literally any of their actual toys, like, at all, you're crazy. You're buying what propaganda is selling. Anything you see now, in full display was designed 35+ years ago.

Skunkworks has some crazy shit that's locked away from the public.

Is it really that advanced if it failed to detonate?

the houthis are too stupid to do anything, they will try to eat rocket. irans death will come soon, and the entire east world will be mighty israel and India. once India nukes pakistan into hell, India will destroy all of china with ease. India will be the greatest superpower by 2030. screencap me

Unlike the walleye, these PGMs are meant to be dropped from 40miles away. They need more than INS to get to target, and against goatfuckers with no defense capabilities GPS provides a solution to both targeting and flight pathing problems.

pretending to be a pajeet for easy (you)s

fine

He's already on the case

unnamed.png - 312x312, 160.27K

Lmao, you clearly missed out on how to continue funding the wars in the sandbox for our lords in Israel, we CANCELLED basically all of those future weapons. All of which would be super useful in Ukraine and Yemen. Hell we cannot even operate F-35s against the houthis because of how utterly shit they are. Which is why we are using standoff munitions against one of the poorest nations in the world.

Kikes fucked us over for a few more years of not having to fight their own wars.

Payload capacity issues is just why you wanna be screaming havoc on final approach. Even a silent killer got its point blank moment. Lesson of the ambush predator. It does only announce itself once the grid coordinates are sufficiently locked. Nothing is more terrifying than the idea of a confirmed (inevitable) kill. :)

How retarded are you? Only the fuse is faulty the rest still works fine.
Plus you can figure out what went wrong too and fix it on your own model, jeez you're low IQ

10 years from now Iran comes out with something that looks vaguely similar made out of coathangers and papier mache.

soft land bomba in enemy territory

"oy we got you tech now

take to highly secret location to reverse engineer

remote tracking and control the whole time

Detonate

Lol let's see it, then. You fuckers always say this, but you never deliver, no matter how dire your situation becomes...

If you think that the US has used literally any of their actual toys

ahahahahaahhaa
oh yeah, the "we aren't even trying" cope
we aren't trying because we don't have shit, inbred faggot

B-2 is 50 year old technology.

Its Classified status is only because one hasnt been downed yet in combat. But its really not anything new and the inside would look like 1998
