the state has a monopoly on violence- that's their whole point and they have devoted centuries to perfecting methods of control and response to people dumb enough to use violence against them.

more and more, i think that "resistance" isn't even the correct way of framing this. if we are only fighting *against* something it is very hard to win. now i think it should be focused on fighting *for* something, building something, a parallel system within the shell of the old system, in a way that provides value for the old system so that they can't crack down on it or even want to defeat it.

i think any act of violence, including against billionaires and other criminals, financial or otherwise, is wrong-headed, misguided and ultimately self-destructive.
(this isn't just because of violence is bad mkay, it's strategically the right decision for all sorts of reasons- not least of which they are potentially very powerful allies if they see that a movement could benefit them in some way)

think of judo or hapkido. a much much smaller opponent is capable of manhandling and winning a fight against an enormous opponent. but if they go against them directly, they'll get smeared. the key is to find vulnerable pressure points and bottlenecks and use them to control the momentum of the much much bigger and stronger opponent- paradoxically, using their size and strength against them.

First of all, to "split the money", you would have to sell their companies to someone. So someone would have to buy them. Noone will buy them because they just saw what you did to the previous owners.

Second, someone will always own these companies, even after you sold them. You did not solve the problem. The solution would be antitrust action, and breaking them up.

Third, their wealth is a lie, it's only on paper in the stock market. You cannot sell their stocks without crashing the price. You would get way way less money than you expect, which means they have way way less money than you think.

I've been playing with an idea like that. Instead of dividing up the money we use it to finance a new nationalist government. A lot of the money would go to building up an army ngl.

1. Nationalize the business. This only works if it the company served a need and not a want. For example a food, farming, or health company could be nationalized while a beauty, clothing, or fast food place couldn't.
