Churches in a lot of other countries have a more well rounded "curriculum" for the congregation for lack of a better word and usually explain that the Pharisees are the modern day Jews. My dad taught Sunday School for years, he had a book of old sermons that his dad had, they used to literally explain this to you in church, complete with historical anecdotes about the Jews fucking off to Babylon to write the Talmud, this used to be pretty common preaching in the USA and it was phased out in the 40s and later because "muh antisemitism."
Incidentally Babylon, where the Talmud was written, is not a city with a good reputation in scripture.
