I can't find ANY data on the Abrams drive axles, but this does seem to be within the realm of reasonable to me.
TL/DR, for available wheel torque of 10,000 ft-lbs, and any axle diameter under 4", a single strand of concertina wire wrapped around the drive axle should be sufficient to not only mobilize the vehicle, but actually stall out the engine.
So it's not terribly surprising that double stranded concertina could immobilize an armored vehicle in that size class.
All of this is from a quick Google, and is just using engine torque * drive ratio * wheel/axle radius to get available force, so it's not precise, but it gets us withing an order of magnitude.
