for me the central problem was the huge amount of money that infowars seemed to need in order to stay functional. it was made to be too flashy and too dependent on a constant high income stream, the worst thing you can do to a media outlet pitting itself against the mainstream. if he's stayed a basic PBS style thing with his radio affiliates people would still have flocked to the channel but without the bullshit of needing millions every month. hell, these days you can fund a basic live video feed on very very little or nothing if you use torrent networks etc.

i was mostly listening before all that shit started. late 90s to maybe 2007-8. the most you'd get back then were the ads between segments (if you got those files, there were files with no ads) or the yearly money bomb. those i didn't mind - you have to make some money to live and keep on working, thats normal. but once it got into the mid 2010s and onwards its was always money money money. ruined it all for me. there was still good stuff talked about but fuck....the endless money talk too. shame.
