Watching cockpit videos of carrier landings both real and on DCS I always wondered why there weren't more accidents, they look seriously hard to pull off especially on rougher seas. Of course as a non pilot they may look harder than they really are

The only info I've seen on the losses were that one was lost due to night landing mishap and overshot the runway or the arrest line failed. And another plane which was unmanned was lost when it and the tow car went over the side. There is literally no reliable info on the 3rd jet or what the 4th mishap supposedly is or was.

Ok I've finally found a reliable US mil source on the supposed third jet. It was reportedly shot down by the USS Gettysburg back in December 2024.
So the timeline is.
Dec 2024 - f18 shot down by US missile cruiser in friendly fire incident
April 2025 - tow car and f18 unmanned on deck fell overboard, USS Truman
May 2025 - manned f18 overshot the runway during night ops, USS Truman.
Obviously the Truman commander needs to get his crew in line.
