OP's post shows a model 1708 controller. The calibration data for the joysticks resides on the main control chip on the motherboard. There haven't been any tools released, to my knowledge, to reprogram it. Desoldering the old sticks and soldering in new ones is not hard as long as you don't lift any pads. But since the old calibration data for the original joysticks cannot be overwritten, the controller will still have stick drift after the new sticks are installed. This is because all potentiometers are made within a tolerance range, and the new ones won't be identical to the originals. For PS4 and PS5 controllers this isn't a problem since you can simply reprogram the main chip after installing new sticks using freely available tools, so it'll be literally as good as a brand new one straight out of the factory. But with model 1708 Xbone controllers you need to spend 20 minutes painstakingly bending the wiper discs into just the right position in order to try to match the calibration data already on the main chip. Even then, it'll never be perfect. Microsoft released a tool to rewrite the calibration data for model 1914 controllers only. But older models like the one in OP's photo require immense patience to manually adjust the sticks to match the preexisting calibration.
