I've been considering doing this, but I've also been lifting consistently for 4 years and am close to my natty limit. So far lifting has made zero difference with attracting women (and before you ask I'm not a fat powerlifter). I don't lift for women anymore, but I'd like to at least look big in clothes.

I'm 6'1", 225 lbs (185cm, 102kg for metricfags), kind of fat because I dirty bulked a bit too much recently. I've been down to 12% bf plenty of times before and it didn't seem to make a difference.
And I don't bother testing 1RM but some of my recent personal bests are:
DB OHP: 120 lbs (54kg) x 11 reps
DB Bench: 170lbs (77kg) x 12 reps
Cable rows: 220 lbs (100kg) x 10 reps
Hammer curls: 45 lbs (20kg) x 13 reps
These aren't great numbers for someone who has lifted as long as I have, but I'm pretty sure that my genetics are just trash for muscle development (part of why I'm tempted to hop on TRT). I don't do squats or deadlifts anymore because of back problems, but I still hit legs as much as I can with machines.

i think if you are already lonely then gym won't help because it's not a hobby where you meet people and chat. everyone in the gym is just quick in and out which is understandable. gym or any other hobby is supposed to compliment your life and add to it but you first need a life. it doesn't work the other way around. i think team sports would be better suited for the current lonely male epidemic

you should prob forget everything you think you know and start from the begining, read starting strength, prob the best intro into lifting fundamentals, also deadlift hurting your back is weird, it should be doing the opposite and helping your back, insane you would stop literally the best exercise that exists completely

All I do for chest currently is dumbbell bench press and machine flys, but I used to do dips and incline press (and probably will again when I change up my program soon) as those hit upper and lower chest well.
For shoulders I do dumbbell OHP, cable lateral raises, and face pulls.
I encourage you to use dumbbells as much as possible over barbells, and be autistic about form, even if you have to look like a bitch lifting baby weights for a while. I got a shoulder impingement a couple of years ago and couldn't do any overhead or pressing movements for almost a year.
No I do a program with progressive overloading and reps to failure at the end of every exercise. I appreciate your perspective Aussiebro but I can assure you that I know just as much, if not more than you, on this shit.

for perspective I think I started bench at ~50kg for working sets and in less than a year was on 110kg, and that at 6' and 100kg

I mostly do hypertrophy work with dumbbells. If you calculate out my rep max to (very roughly) extrapolate a 1RM, that's 238 lbs (107 kg). Then, considering that usually the average person can do 45lbs more on barbell bench than with dumbbells, that'd be roughly 283 lbs (128kg) 1RM on barbell bench. As I've said those aren't great numbers, but they're certainly not in beginner territory. I also had a shoulder injury and had to stop all pressing movement for nearly a year which hurt my progress.

I use dumbbells primarily because barbells encourage shitty form and allow you to ego lift. I used barbells before getting a bad shoulder impingement. Since switching I've been injury free.
