What are the political implications of a majority of adult westeners being on either SSRIs, benzodiazepines, or ADHD stimulants? Anyone have personal experiences?

I’m on meds. It sucks. My parents made me take them years ago and now I have to titrate slowly off of them lest I face withdrawal. I’m better now and the meds did absolutely nothing. My parents were retards who got grifted

Is it the majority? There are a lot but I don't know numbers. Looks more like 3-5% most of the time, with nearly 20% for antidepressants for women. I'm just looking at North America though.

The withdrawal from these things is a crime. No warning about it up front from doctors. Then if you go off them too fast and have withdrawal symptoms that look like mental illness, they say “see, you still need the meds!”

You're more likely to successfully claim disability benefits if you're on SSRIs and similar drugs for your mental health so people lie to their doctors for them and never actually use them.

You're supposed to ease off of them gradually (for example I'm going from 10mg to 5mg - stay on that for about 3 months, then lower to 2,5mg, then 0).

The thing is, as with all things in the U.S., is that it's a business, so they'll want to keep seeling them to you. But a good doctor would tell you to gradually stop.

My doctor is Indian and has repeatedly and rudely told me that my goals are unattainable while comparing herself to me. She’s a fat bitch and I genuinely loath her. I defied most of her assertions and this only made her more hostile. I e switched to another doctor (who is also Indian) and although she’s smarter in that she isn’t arrogant and antagonistic, she still has no intention of letting me go

the few people I've known who take meds are wrecks. I ask them what good are the meds doing and it's always it would be so much worse if they didn't. I say I think it's a waste since they're still a wreck and there's a possibility it is the meds, but to each their own I guess.

I'm on them and they work for me, but I definitely agree that these are over prescribed. Only 15% of people on them probably need them.

anti-depressants "work" by the idea that a person constantly stimulated don't rationalize as in anxiety.

most "anxiety" are chronic illness called neuroticism, they want you to k33p going without thinking about repercussion of your acts, anti-depressants don't enchase your mood rather is a mild sort of akathisia were you're unable to stop acting...

after a while the person on anti-depressant start complaining that they can't sleep, than they introduce benzo/hypnotics and now they have anti-psychotics for insonmnia.
