777 years ago in May 15., a small town named Reval was given city rights and it was 80 kilometers from Helsinki to the south.
It is what became known as Tallinn the capitol of Estonia.
Estonia was intiially not a country in 13th century but a military encampent for Teutonic Knights Order (TKO). Who were the teutonic knights of holy Roman empiure (this is in contrast to Latin knights of holy Roman empire, different people same goals).
SOMEHOW Estonians didnt speak German but instead it was a dialect of Finnish. This has never been explained how.
Anyway Tallinn still has some of those medieval 777 year old ruins well preserved. And to celebrate this day there is now a lot of Estonian music bands gathered in there for a free gig in Tallinn Central Park.
