The problem was that retirement age was looking "77 years old" ish for people like me (currently I'm 31) but my mom can retire when she's 65. So they've actually alleviated this problem by level-setting retirement nation-wide to age 70, so I can retire when I'm 70, but so can anybody born after 1970 also. So they've taken some years off the current senior generation and lumped them back into the young generation. And they said another vote around this issue will happen in 2030.

Denmark is being realistic about it's fiscal obligations. If you're not interested in becoming muttopia via immigration of actual taxpayers (i.e not what Europe has been taking), then you have to raise the retirement age, raise contributions, don't raise payouts with inflation for a bit, etc. The welfare state is expensive.
They're actually addressing half of the fundamental problem with low birth rates. They still need to adjust the economic reality half of the problem though. You can't sustain an economy without solid trading partners like this, you need a decent surplus.

My parents recently retired couple of years ago and they are bored out of their mind and do small jobs on the side because of it. It's not that uncommon for nordics to be in good shape since they haven't been 'overworked' through out their life.
