+1 for NFS HP2010. its such a random, out of place NFS franchise title, its weird as shit. races get boring after some time and freeroam feels empty. the base game is excellent, but lack of details really makes this game give you uneasy vibes. wish there was more interaction, NPCs and just background filler. but on the other hand its a perfect reboot title of original need for speed titles - high speed racing on open highways with exotic supercars in mind. what surprised me even more is the engine sounds. theyre top tier. rarely arcade games have this dedication, but this one is exception. later in the game when you have a change to drive pagani zonda or similar and hit max speed in tunnel it feels like youre breaking the matrix. sense of speed in this game is excellent. even racing haters would find this game fun. cop chases excellent addition, tho they do get repetitive. anyway - solid game, even too solid for modern EA devs.

Unreal Gold is an amazing game that can run on a potato and you can pretty much get it free now, apparently. Single player campaign is great, lots of mods and a small but supportive online community. It's too bad there was never a true follow up to the game though ever since 1998.

It's a rather dense game but not overly challenging gameplay wise. The devs are changing/re-balancing the game a lot nowadays because they added crafting so making good weapons is not that difficult.

Also fuck the illuminate even on easier settings they make it an insane horde mode shooter and are bullet sponges. On the harder settings you cannot hope to win with only what's available in the free warbonds.

in that context i'd also recommend Hitman: WOA. it literally advertises DEI cancer at the start of the game but it's an objectively good trilogy (albeit different and maybe even not as good as the originals) it's addictive af and it actually recognizes that men can never be women as you can only dress up as a man unlike some rpg's that let you steal any clothing at all. In fact a female Hitman could be interesting as I remember a kgb or cia infographic about how women can go undercover both ways while a man can only ever be a man. since you're already doing it wrong if you spend much time shooting and slashing being a woman wouldn't even be that much of a handicap.

Since they introduced the dlc for the galactic council which was forced even on players who don't buy it conquest is heavily penalized shit like that.
Paradox will ruin base games with core mechanic changes that basically force you to buy the dlc to have a functional experience.
