Keep in mind that Gnosticism has different versions of the same story, and that in some of them it is explained that Sophia fell like this and created the flawed world as part of God's bigger plan for creation.

In Jewish kabbalah, the same thing is claimed. In both cases, it is so that the world that comes will be better. While 'Satan' is allowed to try and mislead the Jews, God allows it because it actually leads to the desired world in the future.

According to Judaism this world will only exist for 6,000 years, then there will be 'the world to come'. this isn't described as being a new universe created entirely, and the only difference is that people are ressurected and connected to God. Depends on the era and metaphor, like in Lurrianic kabbalah Rome is considered the descendants of the Lillim in particular. As a general rule all of this is just metaphors for gentiles, but in some cases they can be said to refer to separate factions of gentiles. The Jewish Kabbalah claims that in the end times, the remaining tribes of israel will be of all nations of the world, but primarily from the Europeans.
