Paper and pencilbros... we are so FUCKING BACK

That's not what blue books look like.

zoomers cant read or write though.

Calligraphy is rayciss.

what are blue books? how do they prevent cheating on assignments?

Do zoomers even know how to write with a pen?

Now, however, as AI tears through America’s elite educational system, lobotomizing tomorrow’s young leaders as it goes, could it be that blue books have been refashioned from a villain of the pre-AI age to a hero for our algorithmically-poisoned times?

Histrionic kikes are freaking out the common man now has the ability to have someone else write his essays for him

they definitely can't write with a pen

fuck Zoomers, lol

so instead of printing whatever garbage the ai gave you, now you have to write it down on paper

i don't see how this is of any help against the devil ai

I tried journaling recently, and my hand started cramping up after 5 minutes, and my letters were all crooked and shit. I am 38.

The white man studies his material and passes tests thru intellectual integrity. The Indian man cheats and rubs shit all over body and soul

It’s hilarious to see a zoomer trying to use a pencil.

They're standardized notebooks with about a dozen sheets of paper. Everyone brings their own blue book to the exam, the professor collects them, shuffles the pile, and then hands them back out. That ensures no one can write something in their blue book before the exam and be able to get it back.

Blue Book.png - 800x501, 650.53K

Americans ALWAYS cheat which is exactly why so many don't have gfs/bfs, homes, better jobs, a higher trust society, etc.

zoomzooms don't know what this is

91MO3Nq09iL.jpg - 2560x1749, 540.67K

Small notebooks given out for in class essays/tests. Theoretically you can send the student home with it so they atleast couldn't directly copy and paste from the internet.

At least Zoomers might finally learn how to write legibly as a consequence of this.

Pretty much every exam I ever took in ungrad and afterwards was bluebook

When I was in college, you'd get these thin little blue exam books, that were small enough to fit on the little seat writing desk you'd have in a classroom. There'd be the teaching assistants wandering around proctoring shit. They prevent cheating presumably by going back to the analog approach where you theoretically need to have the knowledge in your brain to write an essay onto a piece of paper.

Same dude. I take some poorly written hand notes at work, but overall my penmanship has gone to shit. I was the kid in school that people always complimented my handwriting on too.

this

Generally the professor distributes the bluebook before the exam you dont have to bring one.

Based. Return to monke.

wait because today essais during tests are made on laptops?

It's how you determine used car value.

BlueBook.jpg - 617x1000, 95.68K

Where did you go to school? We had to buy our own. This was 20+ years ago though. Is it like how everyone gets free lunch at school now? The colleges probably add $1000/year to your tuition to pay for the bluebooks whether you use them in your courses or not. What a scam.

bring back revolving chalkboards

1780877902.jpg - 1500x1500, 393.43K

Some classes I had allowed you to sign into a software that allowed you to type and submit your answers instead of use a bluebook yes. The software supposedly wouldn't let you leave the program etc.

i was in high school in the late 90s to early 2000s, even then all assignments were demanded typed. the handwriting kids had was fucking atrocious, and nobody gaf. which caused them to demand more shit typed because it waseasier to read.

im a calligrapher, i can write in Fraktur, Old English, my own versions of those, italic script, engineer block print, and im working on German kurrentschrift (cursive from the days of the kings of the holy empire) right now. i take pride in this shit

fucking government schools and technology were just as big a disaster for the human race as uncle teddy said

It wasn't that way when I was in college but that was also before they raised tuition by ten trillion percent so at least you got something extra for your money.

UGA within the last ten years. I paid about $600 tuition per year.

If you tell a dealership you got your trade-in's value from the blue book, they'll tell you they use the black book. If you tell them you used the black book, they'll tell you they use a super secret beige book. I'm not even joking. This has happened to me.

late 90s to early 2000s, even then all assignments were demanded typed

America is so far ahead of Europe. I finished school in 2016 and all exams were pen&paper unless you had autism or dyslexia in which case you could use a PC

Don't be silly. Blue Book is the US Air Force's report on UFOs.

it took these dumb niggers this long to think of just fucking going back to pen and paper?...

My fiancée is 21 and she knows how to write I think zoomers know how to write at least the White ones. How could they not tho? They can kinda read they are all online all the time. I assume they could copy letters they have seen in their keyboards

For me if I kept my GPA high I paid almost nothing for tuition

I work with a zoomie, he can't read..crazy

neuralink will make school obsolete

Yeah, I'm in my 40s, so obviously shit was different back then.

And dumb blacks playing the lottery paid the balance of your tuition.

that's what they look like now
why charge $0.25 per book when you can add a ring binder and charge $10 per book

Elaborate.

lmfao the article about AI problems in school shows signs of being AI written and uses AI images.

Why even have news agencies with this sort of slop? we could just as easily ask AI "What new issues should I know about today?" on my own.

Do they have a different name? I can't find an image of the spiral bound version anywhere using the blue book name.

90s HS graduating boomer here
school system provided our blue books
was a pretty good and well funded school system at the time

Why even have news agencies with this sort of slop?

Journalists are about to be fully replaced by AI generated text and image slop

I play the powerball ocassionally when it gets high. The way I see it, I'd have to play it about 30k times before I'm in the red with the lotto kek.

bro i wouldn't call it far ahead. it really kneecapped peoples ability to coordinate thoughts by using "suggestions" from the computer, and not having that manual dexterity and connection where you must think and you move your hand, also in a straight and level line

this should've never been allowed

Teachers over the past two decades have fucked up two generations of kids by pushing technology in the classroom. Kids aren't responsible enough for it and parents don't have the time to constantly monitor their kids. One time I had to have a parent teacher conference because a teacher was failing my kid for not using Google docs. I had to bring in the Google terms of service that says you have to be 13 to use Google services in order to straighten it out. The Internet should be 18+ until we can come up with a way to give children their own age appropriate space. We shouldn't have to pay extra for third party software to block shit. It should be more like cable where everything is regulated by the FCC.

Thirdie brown zoomer moment

Do you really think someone would do that, just go on the internet and tell lies?

Apparently meat chicken alumni give them away for free.

Georgia has the "Hope Scholarship" which pays for students with a 'B' average or better to attend college. For trade school, you only need a 'C' average. It's funded by revenue from the state lottery.

I do not remember using blue books in high school. We used them in some college classes and had to go buy our own.

since the thread is full of boomer, was the handjob soap a thing in your country?

handjob soap.jpg - 800x339, 64.05K

These days universities in the US use software systems, either Blackboard or Canvas, for online tests, grading and class management
I assume many primary and secondary schools have done the same with the proliferation of digital devices like laptops and phones
Anything digital can easily be cheated with
So then they added "anti cheat" software. But it's pretty shitty and only catches the laziest cheaters (often Indians).
But it looks like things are swinging back to pen and paper, which is great.

Ahh the TV cart...the best days were TV cart days.
I want to go back, bros.

God I hate Ohio. Here only blacks get to go to school for free.

what is that hideous abomination

lemonparty.org for the bathroom, figures it came from france

Idk what it is now. At the time it was something like you got 80% if you were over 3.0 and 100% paid if you were over 3.7.

Anyone in education here? Any article/book you recommend? Found out about bloom and solo's taxonomies and that shit is amazing, helped me tremendously.

Nice. I want kids to have amazing handwriting again.

I can't wait for AI to replace all the office jobs to the point where AI are day trading and trying to apply Elliott Wave Theory (the idea that that market prices move in predictable wave patterns based on investor psychology cycles.) when it's mostly bots trading.

There is ripe room right now to propose a new method based on patters of repeat due to collective AI predictions of investor emotion (optimism, pessimism), in the absence of any actual emotion. I should do a paper on this. Maybe I will get ChatGPT to draft up such a theory so the bots over at American Economic Review will publish my concepts for other bots to use so that stock trading does not become complete nonsense.

you now have legal standing for jewshark civil rights lawyer

Kek my mom has one of these in her kitchen

people still go to school to learn?

The worst of it is, its the sort of skill that takes a LONG time to develop. I just don't have the time to spend on something like that, the r/r is preposterously low. And I don't blame the kids for foregoing it either.

Why the fuck would they even let you bring your own book in the first place?

Cheating is out of hand because of non-white students, not because of AI.

That's good to see. I admit I expect the worse when it comes to suppliers and government spending.
However, there are "composition books" with ring binding which are several dollars a unit

i found old logbooks where i work. one on december 7th 1941 saying a state of war now exists with the empire of Japan, and the guys were issued shotguns and revolvers to protect the plant

immaculate handwriting too

WHAT THE FUCK NO ONE CAN HANDWRITE IN 2025

so kikes are mad other people can cheat now and are going back to a system where it can only be rigged for them?

That doesnt stop cheating imo. I cheated my way through the american system long before they adoped computers fully.

It does make it harder, though.

get with the times, old man

that would've been far better if you quazimoto retard handwrote that poast and uploaded the pic

At most major undergrad universities, the classes are so easy you literally just go to class and listen and will break the curve kek. Just sit your ass in class and listen three times a week and you will probably get a better grade for less effort than cheating.

There may be some weed-out classes in some of the harder majors like chemistry where you actually have to study though. Undergrad was easy for the most part things didn't get hard until afterwards.

Its blue and its a book, so it is in fact a blue book

what would a classic blackbook look like then

Here, I did it for him. You're welcome.

Wow it's almost as if they'll get better at it if they do it more.

NOOOO I CAN'T GO TO THE GYM BECAUSE I CAN'T BENCH 4PL8!!!

Oh sheeiiiittt dem keeds are cooked. COOKED!

Just wait until they take their calculators away and have to go back to log books

What an incredibly based post

I cheated too. I memorised times tables so I'd just know the answers to problems instead of "working them out" LOL.

Because the professor didn't want to pay for it out of his pocket and the school didn't allocated funds for it. This was back when you had to be a at least somewhat responsible person to attend college so if you were told to bring a blue book for the exams, that's what you'd do.

In hindsight there may have been times the professor told us to bring a blue book to an exam but Im pretty sure if yiu didn't have one they would give you one.

someone posted 78% nigresses with degree are employed by the bloated useless govt

i welcome the day this happens and shaneeqa has to go back to doing the hoe stroll down malcom x blvd for a pimp in a Cadillac named Gold Hand

or something like that

If you know, you're based.

Still have a pad of engineering paper. Don't use it very much anymore but once in a while, it's nice to have.
One time the professor forgot to tell us to bring one so we all hiked over to the campus bookstore to each buy one and return to start the exam.

I wrote it with my left hand.
Would like to see pics of obsolete items from school from all old farts who graduated high school in the 90s. Here's mine. My kid is graduating from high school tomorrow and I'm feeling nostalgic.

In our school the teachers just handed out blank A4 printer paper.

Yep we had them..

As a post-soviet turd worlder my mind couldn't comprehend how simple and braindead American school curriculum is. Friend's kid has just finished his 5th grade and I watched him do his homework when I stayed at their place. There's barely any homework and what there is can be cheated through the system itself. Everything is done on his iPad - the kid barely knows how to write. There's no need to even read, since all questions in online homework had "read it to me" button

Holy shit kek

Paper and pencil is based and tangiblepilled. I have a bugman CS master's from 2015 and even then I only used a laptop where required for coding. I studied and took notes with paper and pencil. I write my thoughts and plan things in my daily life with paper and pencil. I keep a journal on my nightstand with paper and pencil. I find that the process of writing (and seeing stuff in my own handwriting) helps retention way more than typing. It's way easier to edit and draw diagrams and pictures with paper and pencil. If I need a fucking battery or an outlet to see the information, I am not interested outside of what's required for coding the computer.

Doubt there were any mimeographs still in use in the 90s but they were still somewhat common in the 80s. At my elementary school, they were hand cranked.

A lot of zoomers use text to speech. They're genuinely illiterate and deserve to starve to death on the streets.

Make it so

Actually, reading the instructions, it looks like it's supposed to be a glove/mitten, which is for the kids to find and say "Hey, that's not an F"

Basically you have to write down in a test-taking setting like a classroom.

kek. I remember huffing those blue inked papers in class.

This is the death of "homework"

I have no idea, but when I attended University and we had exams, I'd have to rush to the bookstore to buy the blue books in which I would craft my essay in class about Blake or some such nonsense, write write write, fill the whole thing up and turn it in at the end of class. No way to cheat on an in class essay exam.

checked
Oh, that makes sense. Your eyesight is better than mine, I couldn't read that.

Education system is such an antique it can't handle new technology and has to regress to pencil and paper.

Maybe it's time, academia. Maybe it's time that YOU adapted and changed. I know, I know, every tradition but yours is gay and the students just HAVE to buy textbooks (with your name on them) or penguin will go out of business, but the times are a changin'. There's a reason that old college bookstore is a head shop now, pay attention to the outside world sometime. Maybe start "doing emails" instead of being an ancient tenured luddite. The days of making a living as a walking Wikipedia article are long gone.
I have never met a humble academic in my life.
LMAO! My cheapass school made us buy them. I used to buy extras on test days and upcharge for the people who forgot. I had a professor try to chew my ass about selling them (morality argument), I reminded him that the university sells them too. So they can run down to the student union and get them or they can give me an extra $2.50 right now, I know you won't wait on them to get back before you lock the door. The fact you lock the door is why I can do this at all :).

got an empty bag of charcoal? dunk it on your head and check the magic nigger box

Also, what's stopping people from just getting AI answers and then writing it down if this is to be given to students? Sounds like this is just a desperate quick fix for a profession being technologically removed

Women and kike teachers love them. I have never understood their purpose.

It's how exams were done in colleges and unis prior to the late 2000s.
Professor would hand out small bluebooks of 10-15 pages, the questions would be written on the board, and students would write out their essays/answers in the bluebooks.
I never saw ones like in OPs pic, though.

They'll have to do it in a room where their phones are confiscated.

I loved these. I always did well on them. I still remember the whining from my classmates.

You sit in a room where your phone and smart watch are taken away. No computer. Just your bluebook and a pen. Good luck.

yes i had them in my school. it's uironically more sanitary too which is the funny part.

(<- ME)

i used to bitch and complain very loudly, they would give me that shitty blue book with paper made of recycled trash cardboard and toilet paper, my fountain pens would bleed all over them, look like shit, and get my hands all blue. imagine trying to write on a sponge with a marker. yeah, like that

Soon enough we'll be in old ppls retirement home asking why all thr nurses are Arabs and niggers. Sad times. Time moves so fast when it's moved. I've done nothing with my life and the last 15 years went and gone. It's depressing. Hopefully I'll die before I get too old.

For a while there they actually made an Eco version called a "Green Book" no shit.

Y LLYFRAU GLEISION?!

These are for tests and exams being held in person, specifically essays. It requires students to actually have enough knowledge about a given subject to write an essay without having the textbook or internet next to them for information. It also requires them to read and write proper fucking English rather than having their 100 word vocabulary be translated into corporate HR speak by grammarly.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't good. I've cheated my way through 3 years of college already and I have $50k in student debt. Its so fucking over for me if this happens. Student debt default is about to hit an all time high.

yay, time to watch 9/11!!

Back before social media and we found out Bill Nye was a faggot

American educayshun.

A fucking joke.

Kids don't know where Russia is on a world map because learning all 1036 genders is what's really important.

Reading, writing and math proficiency among student often less than 5% yet they graduate with honors.

In b4 "niggers".

2+2=5 sometimes according to Harvard.

Common core.

Kids get "special attention" from cute female public school teachers.

AND KIDS STILL NEED TO CHEAT!?

Whatever comes after them will.

how can they make a "green" version of something already made from literal reused garbage

reeks of tax scam

Idk. They probably just printed them a different color and marketed them as "green books" to head-off any predictable bitching from the bozo students and staff about "wasting paper".

They still need to cheat because zero learning goes on in the classroom. Kids are allowed to just fart around on their ipads in class all day now, whereas when I was in school if a teacher even heard any electronics the entire class was stopped until they found out which student it was and then took it away.

Makes sense.
I remember finding it funny when we had to write code with pen and paper in intro compsci tests 15 years ago. Shit was extremely easy but I guess they just wanted to weed out the complete frauds early

I worked in Educational Technology for a long time.

Take all of it out of the classrooms, and the result will be better educated kids who are more well behaved. Reserve technology use for majors that require it. No internet connections are needed. Do actual research with books.

kill yourself boomertranny/millennialtroon/genxtroon

Yeah I had a really good English Lit teacher in HS who made us write traditional 5-paragraph essays in cursive, so by the time I got to college I could write essays like a motherfucker and I always crushed them.

On a side note, if you ever need to really memorize something:

1. Read it.
2. Write it.
3. Speak it.
4. Re-read it.

I've found that writing anchors things much better than typing.

Cheating isn't the biggest problem, the learning outcomes are worse. I think most of the measurements are fudged.

Just like an M1 Garand
