Growing up as a Millenial in America, I watched society collapse right in front of my eyes. The country was great in the 90s when we had a semblance of morality and freedom. Today we are all being spied on 24/7 while we are told that we are worthless is we having any objections to things that were considered beyond the pale when we were kids.

It quite simply isn’t the same country. We also do not have the wealth you think we have Gen X is the last generation that has any purchasing power. We might make more, but the dollar is increasingly worthless. Millenials are lucky to own homes, gen z and beyond will never own one.

I will do my part to be a good neighbor and friend to people I meet, but I couldn’t care less if China takes over. The government hates me.

Yeah once I accumulated enough wealth, I pushed my old boss's buttons to get him to fire me.
There's no way I could have maintained my old lifestyle without that income.
So I took a year vacation (after 32 years of working i deserved it) and just didn't work.
I got bored and started to need money, so I started my own company.
I'm not making nearly as much as I was, but now I get to make money from my hobby basically. It takes a while, like a year and a half of shotgun advertising and lots of repeat customers and word of mouth, so it took almost 2 years of being broke but in all honesty I didn't miss the money nearly as much as I thought I would.

What I'm saying is, is that if you don't want to spin your wheels in clown world, and I assume you have a hobby, it might be worth your time and happiness to consider marketing your skills and go into business for yourself. Just save up and prepare to do a shitload of advertising and getting your name out.
