The tariff bullshit is calming down which means it's likely going to work long term, and the market was strong enough to absorb it as it's going back up recently. Did the market take some damage? I've seen the numbers on tariffs replacing tax, which is indeed a fantasy, (3T total income of USA vs. 1.3T in imports, that's total, not taxes) but combined with spending reductions such as a much smaller state department and IRS we might have a shot here.

There's no civil war brewing yet. We were closest to a break out in the run up to the election. Had Trump lost I'm certain a lot of his base would have popped off. Tensions are still high but I think it has calmed down some since his first admin.

Inflation is still fucked. Egg prices dropped drastically since Trump took office. They were $9.99 a dozen two months ago. They're $4.99 now where I live. So far so good. The only thing Trump is doing that's pissing me off if deporting people for criticizing Israel. It's a slippery slope and a huge crisis he's creating by doing so imo.

Keep in mind regional variations matter here a lot, and how big were are. The cultural and economic divides are growing significantly over the last few decades, but civil war won't be happening. I expect a gradual decline into a more generally and overtly corrupt state. A century out from there you're more likely to see different regional powers interested in breaking away, so balkanization could happen at that point.
There will be no revolt while people are fed. Economically the USA is just so inherently important and capable that even with increasing incompetence and corruption it'll remain powerful for the foreseeable future.
