Electric vehicles in today form just fucking suck. Self combustion way greater than traditional cars. Less range per recharge. Limited amount of recharge stations and recharging a car taking at least 30 minutes makes them insanely inconvenient compared to normal car what can drive more further, you can find fuel stations in total shitholes and refueling takes less than 1 minute.

Solar panels are just not efficient enough yet. They could make a good support power source(like some sort of portable solar panels that could be useful for travelling or some next to your house for smaller fees for electricity) but still we will have to rely either on burning fuel energy or nuclear energy in order to satisfy our electricity needs, nuclear power is the best for now as it produces a lot of energy while its not polluting at all.
