Rock no longer having any place in mainstream music was detrimental to culture as a whole. Say what you want about subcultures of rock being cringe, but the lyrical content was more than "I da best, I so rich, I da best nigga, stop hatin nigga" niggerbop that is everywhere now.
Why?
Because the songs ranged all over the place in subject matter from abuse, love, rape, being under a shitty contract, a loved one dying, etc.
what killed rock but kept niggerbop going
Rock died cause the economics of splitting profits 3 ways minimum and not selling 10 million cds vs 1 rapper on tour. Then you have shit like the Diddy blackmail rings and other weird shit happening.
Will niggerbop die?
Who knows. But never let any niggerbop fan tell you their favorite rapper isn't a faggot.
why would this have any impact at all on culture?
Because music used to be an expression of feelings and emotions. You used to bond with people through talking about shared experiences. Chances are if you liked Korn, you had a single parent household and shit experiences you could share with other people who understood. You got to vent, you met new people who overcame issues, you enjoyed shows, you showed each other new things.
Now music is nothing but delusional bragging and fantasy trying to hype yourself up to others.
This behavior used to be fucking pathetic and be a sign you have no personality. Now no one has a personality because they just repost shit they saw online, so acting like some bragging nigger faggot ia the norm.
You don't have bonds with people.
You don't open up about your life and struggles.
You don't help others in your situation.
You don't bond, talk, or develop a personality.
Just brag about consuming products and brag about getting the next product and keep chasing online clout.
