When I moved into my new house I used my old computer and turned it into a CCTV server. It was kind of annoying getting the cameras functioning, wiring things and setting the recording cadence, when things get overwritten, etc. but it's been worth it. My video quality is superior.

I have a 3 acre property so they've never made it on my land, but a couple of years ago they cops were chasing some niggers on foot who bailed out of a car nearby, and I accessed my camera that can see the road and sure enough a couple of niggers go sprinting past my gate. Generally, I never help the police if possible, but I made an exception and showed the cops so they had a description they could radio out. They were hunting those niggers in the woods nearby for like 6 hours until they found them.

I just use picrel. I plug it in when I'm about to leave my house, it always starts facing away from me staring at a wall. When I leave my house, I use the app to turn it towards the room. When I come back, I turn it towards the wall before entering. Then I unplug it.
No need for permanent CCTV.
