There are about 26 million people of French or French Canadian descent in the US, or 7.5% of the population. Why don't we have the same kind of ethnic pride as other groups like the Irish or Italians? It seems like French Americans mostly fade into the background. It's time to change that. Our heritage should be promoted rather than hidden or suppressed.
