There's no real "private" industry in Canada. Everything goes back to the uniparty one way or another. To allow true private interests to exist in Canada is an inherent threat to the power structure. The full on collapse of the housing market and economy was in motion long before the elections, the crisis he'll have to fix is creating enough inflation to prop up house prices.

See right after covid when the market was at its peak, every mouth breathing retard out there went and bought a 400sq-ft investment condo hoping to rent it out to a family of indians. All of those condo units are coming to completion, there's about 100,000 of them scheduled to be built by 2026.

These people agreed to pay peak market rates of $1400/sq-ft and now these condos are worth $900/sq-ft. If any of our banks actually followed the rules these guys wouldn't be able to close, every single condo unit is at least $200,000 underwater. This has become such a massive fuck up that banks are straight up ignoring valuations and giving people mortgages because they're also on the funding side of these condo projects, if people don't close then the project fails and the banks will absorb 100% of the losses.

People aren't retarded though and can do the math on their own, if they don't close then they give up their $50,000 deposit and risk getting sued, but also immediately come ahead by $175,000. About 30% of the people are just walking away. As more and more of these dog-crate condos come to completion the lower the average price gets because there is so much inventory and the more people will simply walk away.

This is dragging down the entire real estate market in a doom spiral that will collapse our banking system without government intervention. Now this is going to create a bullwhip effect because people in the industry see this going on and have stopped building new condo and housing projects completely. Over the next 3-4 years there will be an excess of housing supply and then suddenly there will be a shortage again because nothing new is being built.
