the new Doom games have been better games compared to the New Shadow Warrior one, except maybe the first of the new Shadow Warrior from 2013.

If you like JRPG style stuff, check out Felvidek. If you like reading, point-and-click adventure style stuff then NORCO is a great choice for you. If you prefer simulation-style games where you can build stuff all the way you want and lean into autism, get Dwarf Fortress.

The enemy general bodyguard routed two of my spear units, one of them breaking instantly on contact, before I could get reinforcements over and killed my general in the subsequent melee. There are still good games but definitely fewer from big developers because of what is clearly bad influence from the board room. You mostly have to search through a sea of slop looking for the gems among all the small developers. All of my in game hours recently have been either Kenshi or Hades 2.

Fallout 1 was made for 5 million. I can make mine for 5-10 million. Kenshi was just one guy at the start and finished with 12-15 people worldwide. Manor Lords was 1-3 people. GTA 1 and 2 are free now because of music licensing. Just make good games they do not need huge budgets as in HOI 4 Fallout mod got an update. HOI 4 is like 20 bucks and 3000 hours + of entertainment.

Multiplayer may need mega corps but multiplayer has run its course so who cares if the cheaters cannot have a field day anymore.
