Boomers do not understand why subsequent generations are dissatisfied because luxuries used to be expensive and necessities used to be cheap. It is now the other way around. In the 70's, a television and microwave were a luxury that could not be easily afforded compared to their salary, but a home could. Today, it is the opposite. Electronics are extremely cheap and can be bought easily, but homes are entirely unaffordable. They refuse to understand this and as such really the only recourse is to wait for them to expire and inherit the wealth if possible. They simply will not see eye to eye for the brief time they remain on this mortal coil.
