It sets a bad precedent for non-Ukraine related issues. Every member state having a vote means they are equal at least in theory in terms on how they vote on the future of the Union. Imagine a vote on something that negatively affects only 2 or 3 members and benefits the rest. If those members aren't Germany or France they would have no chance to reject the proposal. What should have been done is stopping EU gibs the second king gypsy started getting serious about blocking aid/sanctions.
