My sister has several learning disabilities including autism and Turner Syndrome (a chromosome disorder). However, she has received probably the highest quality of care and education that any disabled child could possibly ask for since my mother is an education professor specializing in children with disabilities. My grandparents are also quite wealthy, meaning that my sister has a substantial trust fund that can be used to support her if she needs it. With the high level of care and education that she has received, my sister is able to work a relatively normal job in early childcare, although there are many careers that would be beyond her. Despite my parents' best efforts, she is not able to drive or live independently. If something were to happen to my parents, she would probably have to go to a group home or live with me. While my parents had aspirations that she might eventually be able to find love, it seems unlikely at this point. She is in her mid twenties and still has the mind of a twelve year-old in many respects. Furthermore, any man who did express interest would be regarded with significant skepticism as to whether he was merely seeking to take advantage of her and the wealth she has access to. Being in a relationship with someone like that is like being a full-time caregiver and most people are not willing to take on such a burden. What my parents have been able to achieve is building a fulfilling social life by having her partake in Special Olympics alongside other disabled young adults. If she were to live in a group home in the future, I think she would be able to find a similar sense of community there.

This isn't to say that your daughter's situation will work out the same as every child is unique, but it's important to have realistic expectations while giving her every possible tool to find out what she's really capable of.

If she's under 14 it's certainly possible she's just falling behind academically because the teachers don't know how they should work with her and simply throws tantrums as a result of struggling to keep up. It's also possible her school is just too big. I was in a similar boat when I was in school (although I was never recommended for special ed) My school was massive so none of the teachers wanted to help, or try to work with students on an individual level, you had to learn their way or not at all. I was transferred to a much smaller school (from about 2500 students to 300) and my gpa went from 1.8 to 3.9 learning the same curriculum.

OP, I have known women who have some autism, some more apparent than others, and have grown up differently than they started. My own brother has an auditory processing disorder diagnosis which he has improved significantly on as he grew up (without paying for therapy for it, but do what you feel is right and at whatever age you think she would benefit the most from it).
DO not think this is the end for your daughter.
Over time she could improve in her auditory processing skills. It can require patients, but read her very simple to understand stories for children. My brother has significantly increased his ability to the point where he is fine in conversation. Sometimes has some trouble understanding if there's many noises in a room, but that's a lot of people.
They say autism is a spectrum because it can express itself wildly different in each case. It can also express itself differently with age. Try raising her to self identify as wanting to be a good person, and be patient in teaching her moral lessons that she should internalize, because that can help with the tantrums as she gets older.
To help with this I recommend two things:
1) a book on Bible stories for children
(they make very easy to understand versions that teach the moral lessons, like "Read With Me Bible, Bible Stories for Children" that's the one my grandmother read to me)
2) "The Book of Virtues" by William J. Bennett
(some of the stories in this are longer but there are shorter stories as well and all stories are organized by the moral lessons you want to teach your child, it's a good one just to have and maybe book mark the stories that are the lengths you think your child can handle)

Hey I recommend getting some sort of private lessons or tutoring for your daughter. A lot of special ed programs are just retard daycare. I recommend getting her into computers, or music/arts if she enjoys that. She probably just has a lot of social issues.

Speech therapy is no big deal anon I couldn’t pronounce my R words (not the one you are thinking of sick fucks) all they will do is take her out of her normal class for like 30 min once a week and go over how to pronounce things she will be be fixed in like a semester. It’s not a big deal and I got to skip some PE so it was pretty comfy. She will be fine and will laugh about it when she is older she isn’t a retard don’t worry man

You need to set her up with systems that break down each movement and work in the accomplishment of the task until she completes it and have rewards for when it is finished. If someone had just explained the metaphysical aspects of triangles when I was not and I would have been able to do pre-calculus when I was 11. I was forced to go to a fundie baptist school growing up because that's what my parents are.
