Baby Boomer Wealth Transfer is a MEME

I know a 73 year old baby boomer who posts stuff like this on his Facebook. Who gets your stuff if you die and don't have anyone to leave it to?

That's sad. I hope he finds help

We're in Canada so his only option is MAID

Rent

73

Yikes.

inb4 muh property tax renting from the gubmint

>Rent

This, I'm not sure how he didn't eat a bullet 33 years ago.

Who gets your stuff if you die and don't have anyone to leave it to?

the state, jews.

He voted for this tho

Why would a bunch of foreigners care about him?
Why would the government care about him?

Renting can sometimes make sense. If the real estate market isn't booming the capital from your home can be invested elsewhere for a net benefit even after rent.

I'm so fucking sick of this dink and dunk squeeze out every % percent you possibly can midwit financial advice. The motherfucker is 73. You risk off long before then, including securing your living situation. Goddamn, please be careful spewing this banal advice everywhere on the internet; someone might actually believe you.

he thinks his family is going to be there.

The kids show up for the first or second emergency.
After that they have to move on.
After that it is just long long hours in a cycle of nursing homes and being sent home for scams and pain no one can fix.
Your kids are adults and have busy lives.

This is so true. I don't view a house as an investment I view a house as a place of security and warmth to live in peace. I don't care if the value of my house become worth more or less goybucks everyday, the home as an investment is a poisonous idea that has contributed to the downfall of our society.

This.

i own my own home

pays taxes, mortgage, upkeep

the peace and security of mind is all in your own head. renting a small, affordable plot can work too and allows you to move at will when your nice neighborhood becomes gentrified in the wrong direction (have fun becoming a minority in your own neighborhood).

to say home ownership is the only path is laughable when you technically dont own what you own

taxes, eminent domain, these things occur

not saying "home ownership" is bad but its always not good either. different strokes

My parents gave me 400k to buy a house and I will be getting a sizeable inheritance after their deaths.

Aww, should have bought a house when it was 7k. If you don't have at least a million in assets as a boomer you're fucking retarded. The crayon eating retard in my father's class is a millionaire from sleepwalking into owning a house not ten thousand miles from a beach.

Lol I love hearing about failed boomers. They could have put 5% into literally anything and been rich. Also I will never forgive them for blaming me for every problem in the world when I had just turned 18. "Avocado toast" the TV hosts said laughing.

This. Seven more years and my house is mine. No financial worries. I put a lot of my own money into my house and didn't loan too much, my mortgage is only 500 euros a month. Last year I ran into some health issues and I wasn't elligible for gibs. I specifically didn't buy a big house for times like these. Looks like I was smarter as a young man than I am now. Had I bought a big house and a big car, I'd be at the poorhouse. Now I'm still pretty comfy and I don't have to lay awake at night, wondering how I'll make ends meet. I'll always have the security of having a bed, a hot shower and a place where I can be myself. Who gives a shit what it's worth when I die? I need it now.

Boomer spends 1 day in the shoes of the average young man in today is world

Complete mental breakdown

Boomers are pathetic. I can't even begin to imagine just how much of a failure that person is to have nothing after living through the easiest of times in the history of humanity where even a deadbeat part time job could afford you several homes

Imagine being the absolute Chad who left a Like on these posts.

Wise, wish you the best of health, take care and get well

this is the endgame for all the childfree fags

Why the fuck don’t they just kill themselves? Who wants to live like that?

Where does he live? Might squat in his house for 10 years or something to get it.

i never saw anyone hardcore posting like this on facebook back in the day when young people still used it.

do you guys still use facebook?

do you know anyone who posts hardcore like this?

i'm 30 and nobody i know uses it anymore

Thanks. When I was looking for a loan, the banks and the older people pressured me to loan more. Specifically the banks. It didn't compute with them that I didn't want to loan more: "You can spend the loan on your house and use your own money to invest." I went against traditional logic, my parents too, thought it was a bit dumb. I'm glad I stayed bullheaded and stuck with my original choice. You can't put a price on peace of mind.

People who think having kids magically means not being old and alone are delusional

I loaned the max max amount that was tax deductible, I didn't see value in going higher than that.

t. never been a part of a happy family and cant imagine it

There was also a second reasoning behind it: if I meet a girl and we start a family, I could still buy a 2nd house together with her and rent my place out. If things then go south between me and the missus, I can always go back to my own place and I won't be a 40 year old man, out on the streets, who has to start from scratch.

Your view would be true if you could just own a home free of any obligation. But you have to pay taxes, and you have to maintain it and all that. It's not just a secure place to live that can't be taken away from you.

don’t be childfree or you’ll end up old and alone

have a kid so they’ll abandon you and you can end up old and alone

inb4 MY child would never do that to me even though the vast majority do but I’m different I’m the exception it’s not like everyone else thinks that too

my family was fucked up so yours gotta be too!

”my”=“the vast majority of people”

Yep you sound like another overconfident retard enjoy getting screwed over keke

my family is the normal one, most are fucked up like mine!

fuckin kekkkkkkk

"nobody will visit my grave"

whats with boomers and trying to make everything about them? im glad when im finally dead and dont have to witness whatever this shit is anymore and i couldnt care less if nobody would visit my grave and you know why? because im fucking dead and i hate this life and most humans anyway

id rather donate my money to greenpeace than some ungrateful man child

His fault for not caring about his health.
73 is relatively too young to be "waiting to die".

73

everyone your age has died

Amerishart quality of life everyone

my grandma has a apartment at ground level (so very good for and elderly person) worth half a million she now wants to sell and move to a retirement home for about 7k per month not because she needs it but because shes bored

meanwhile corona destroyed two familiy businesses that were 30+ years old and my parents dont know if they can ever pay off her their own home or retire at all

my grandma does not care and would rather waste her money on herself than help her own and only son

Lots of people are in anguish. But if you are waiting to die why are you taking medicine? You don't have to sit there alone. Every single place has a senior center you can go hang out or do tasks. An old lady I know played online bingo met an old man from Oklahoma and they got married on my porch with me officiating. If anything weird happens to my health I'm taking myself back to nature and let it have me. Until then I stay as far away from others as possible because human mammals have some strange things going on at this point in time.

Humans weren't meant to live longer than 60

Spend your free time taking care of the elderly and eventually you'll find one lonely enough that will put you in their will

everyone's too stupid to realize that owning a home is just eating financial shit for 30 years
you don't own shit
yes; you technically are less likely to be evicted at the whim of some scumbag landlord
however over the term of the loan you will pay double the actual cash value of your home in interest and adjusted for inflation, homes don't even remotely keep up their value in most locations
the only factor that can make it a good financial decision is your rent to own ratio which is just a factor of the fact that it's fucking illegal to just <not officially live somewhere>

homeowners make fun of renters for paying some landlord jew, while simultaneously paying their entire home value to a bank jew in interest, paying to fix shit, paying an HOA to terrorize them, and paying rent to the government in the form of personal property tax

unless you can buy a thing outright and never have to pay anything else or do anything to maintain possession of said thing, you don't fucking own it
it's renting with extra steps

noooo you can’t die at 75 you need to painstakingly keep yourself alive in a tortured delirious state and reach 90 because… you just do OK?!
