The problem with this is that carbon credits are heavily tied to government money... and while this is all well and good while Trump is in office, he's not going to be in office forever. After the bullshit Elon pulled, I'm pretty sure any subsequent administration is going to want to prevent him from ever having that degree of influence again. He took gov't money, bought Trump an election with it, then personally fired everyone who was investigating him for anything he did. His days are very much numbered.

So long as you have every other car company in the world tripping over themselves to make as many EVs as possible, while tesla remains the only fast charging infrastructure constructing company that can build hardware at the speed, scale and with a modicum of reliability, it isn't overvalued. Fast charge infrastructure is a necessity in a world with electric vehicles and there is nobody else in the world who actually has functional continent spanning fast charge networks that can be relied upon other than tesla. Nobody else is even remotely close.

They're arguably even more dominant in their sector than spacex is for general commercial space launch. And spacex is extremely dominant.

What none of you understood. Is that the key to EVs is batteries. Current batteries work for 200 miles/ charge and in 5-6 years you have to replace them and they cost $10-15k.
But there are 10 other companies besides Tesla who are working on newer battery technologies.
If tomorrow batteries released that go 1000 miles and charge in 10-15 mins, its over and Tesla will dominate all the auto market.
