Therefore woke was actually in their eyes good because you were conscious of the class warfare going on around you.
So why does Lindsay now use the term targeted towards the right? Well because one of the lefts primary goals of woke culture was to awaken white peoples critical consciousness by reminding them that their privileges in life are a result (at least partially) of their collective white identity. Whereas since world War 2 whites have been programmed to treat everyone as an atomized individual, and therefore to be judged on their actions instead of their skin color (think MLK ironically). This is a problem for Lefties though because it is impossible to get collective action against capitalism if whites (the inheritors of the system) view everyone as individuals who are focused on their own Indiosyncratic life. Therefore every part of culture Lefties produced was to make whites "wake up".
Now here's the rub. IT FUCKING BACKFIRED HARD. Obviously anyone with a brain could see this coming. Whites when awakened to their critical consciousness did not unite against the culture they were supposed to inherit.
