Is it a nice state to live in? What are the politics like there?
What goes on in New Mexico?
Heisenberg
It supposedly one of the worst states with highest poverty and illiteracy rates.
Yeah, you should move to Albuquerque.
new mexico has the highest adult illiteracy in the US and is also basically a one party democrat state
Damn. Is it at least a fun state to live in? Any cool dessert parties?
Has the worst drivers in the country with lots of dui
Many small towns are filled with fenters and other assorted drug addicts acting out in the streets. Not exaggerating, you'll see at least 3 junkies fucked up driving through any given town
Well, not that I'm aware of, but one upside is that it has some of the lowest property taxes in the country. Like $50 a month
I've heard it is creepy. The only time I was there was when I was on a business trip c. 2013 to El Paso (of all places kek) and me and the boomers I was with took what was then a rented, new V8 Chrysler 300C (nice but shaky ride, of course) across the border to say we went to New Mexico. Then drove back. Cool story, I know, but they were good boomers.
Very leftist.
Very hot.
Glowies and injuns everywhere.
I live in New Mexico.
Politically it is left leaning libertarian. I would put it on par with Nevada.
Beaners everywhere (majority minority state)
Higher overall crime rate than Chicago
Our only city with a population over 200k is a shithole
Occasionally we are the top state for auto theft
rezzie cops will ticket you for being white
Tons of addicts everywhere
49th in education
1st in violent crime
Liberals run the state and the Republicans are almost irrelevant at the state level.
Governor literally suspended the second amendment
1/4 drivers are uninsured and we have some of the highest rates of DWI
Weirdly high rent because limited housing due to water rights being fucked from the start.
Cops don't care and are critically understaffed
Refugee resettlement program means a ton of Muslims are just randomly here
A few Africans too thanks to Obama
Doctor shortage because junkies keep suing the hospitals
There are some nice places out in the county but overall it is a hellhole. I could go on and on.
Don't forget all the government shit that makes it a magnet for feds.
I would put it on par with Nevada.
I heard Nevada is pretty good though no?
There are some nice places out in the county but overall it is a hellhole.
Sure sounds like it, but at least the weather is nice?
Nevada is better, though it is still definitely rough around the edges.
Sure sounds like it, but at least the weather is nice?
If you like the kind of hot that leaves European blooded whites looking like peeling tomatoes then sure. The winters are more bearable. I have folks out there, they're all mentally ill or extremely depressed.
You sound determined to find good in NM, do you have your heart set on moving there or something?
I have been looking at off grid places around the Cerrillos/Madrid/Galisteo/Waldo regions.. $2,000/acre..I was thinking grab at least 20 better 40 acres and put up a nice comfy home ... quiet, remote, no noise or other man made pollution like wifi/cell/5g and low property tax.. no humidity lots of sunshine= great health... only go to ABQ for supplies occasionally and many loaded shotguns handy all over the house.
It's full of spics and terminally drunk featherniggers. Not a very friendly state for White people.
West Virginia for democrats. People are more hostile to cause it’s a desert
It’s gonna be cold at night, like for real cold with frost. You ain’t ready for a remote life in NM. Go somewhere reasonable like Kentucky
Drugs, cartels, beaners, cryptids, horrible accents.
People are more hostile to cause it’s a desert
And hostile animals too.
Lots of venomous snakes, scorpions, and tarantulas. The kind that get inside your house too. My family got their house skunked because one wandered in.
And plants. The kind of bullshit cacti and thorned sprawling shrubs that shred the soles of your feet with one misstep.
Danger aside it's a very pretty place, naturally. So if you like long hikes in the hills that could be fulfilling.
How's Santa Fe nowadays? I liked it when I spent time there but that was awhile ago. Bit arty liberal but wasn't bad.
$2,000/acre..I was thinking grab at least 20 better 40 acres and put up a nice comfy home
The cheap land is an illusion. Getting a well installed here (if you can even get the water rights) is a minimum of $15k and that assumes everything goes well and the county and state aren't fighting you and the land cooperates too.
Out there there is no water, electricity, natural gas, internet (except starlink), phone lines, or other utilities. Getting workers out there to install anything is a pain and they will jack up the prices.
What you save in land costs you will pay double to make it livable.
I have a friend who has a house out in the desert. they built it themselves and the county watched them closely. They have to have water trucked in because they can't drill. The electric is just solar and batteries.
It's not a cheap way of life just because the land is cheap.
I was there last month for work. It’s ASS. Very lovely views though. The elevation is great but there are way too many homeless junkies. There’s a few hot spots they all congregate to at night it’s pretty ridiculous how many just hang out in front of private businesses. I’d hate my life if my business operated in Santa Fe
I have lived in NH for 20 years... I can handle cold I swim in the cold Atlantic even as early as April and as late as November when water temp is around 40 F... Good insulation and passive radiant heating with big windows and a wood burning stove should be enough or with solar power a few Near Infrared heaters...
so hauled water isn't drinkable but I always drink bottled water like Fiji or Mountain Valley anyway but a 2,300 ga cistern should get me by with about 6 refills a year around $200/haul I read... solar electric should be plenty for my use.. The South is too humid for me
It's less of a New Mexico, and more of an AIDS Arizona. Still better than Texas at least.
I was considering moving to Alberqueue to work at a lab developing space weapons. I dont regret not going.
how? Texas seems like it has at least one thing going for it (gun rights). I mean everything else there is probably shit, but at least gun rights.
If you can find a company that will haul water. There may not be any in the area so you may need to buy a tank and a pickup.
It's doable, but really difficult. Also homeless people sometimes camp in the rural areas for weeks doing meth and shit. They also steal stuff from the rural homes. Just something to be aware of.
Also putting down a foundation for a house there is going to be a bitch and like I said getting workers to build anything is gonna be tough.
It's all a front. All hat no cattle...all queer no steer.
Really? I thought that was Mississippi? O
One more thing, make sure your property is actually accessable. Getting an easement can be $50k+ and having a property that isn't next to the road can be a bitch. Also having property that touches the road next to someone else's property that doesn't touch the road can mean they can file for an easement to your property.
Driving thru that state is like driving on Mars. If you grew up on the eastern seaboard or wet and gushy states like Louisiana and Washington, you will be fucken shooketh.
noted, thanks. I'd hire proper white construction contractors not Home Depot braceros
new mexico is just old mexico but new
My wife is from there. She one of the very few people from the state who aren’t a smelly beaner.
Yes, it is truly a barren wasteland
I thought that was mostly a city problem. Have the queers taken over the country and suburbs too? I know wetbacks have, but have booty bandits joined them in their conquest?
Any cool dessert parties?
No. If that's what you want the major universities in Arizona are huge party schools. There's also Burning Man and coachella and stuff that happen in California. There's always Las Vegas, Nevada if you want gambling and spectacle. New Mexico has none of that.
As an aside, nobody knows we exist.
Occasionally this leads to problems among the idiots who don't know all 50 states.
npr.org
Meth
unironically meth
el diablo
giant injun reservation, lotta drugs and thirdworld tier poverty
also one of the biggest (if not outright) the biggest govt blacksite in the US proper
Santa Fe is nice. It's going to be fairly liberal though, rest of the state is a dump. Albuquerque is one of the worst cities in the states I've ever been to tied with maybe Jackson.
