My advice to any individual Mexican is to build a mafia family for security and become competent with firearms and heavy weapons. If you produce enough engineers to make drones and heavy weapons, why couldn’t you form a breakaway?

The problem is, even if USA Special Forces wipes out a cartel, first in many places the people like their cartel (they act as police, they build infrastructure, and are more reliable than the government) and second, power vacuum. Another cartel will simply replace the old one unless USA troops remain to prevent it. If people liked their cartel, they won't be happy about USA troops in their midst.
