Where I am it's because they're usually not worth fixing up (extremely old housing stock). Land is limited in major metro areas and some developer will eventually come along to buy it if they can knock the house down and build condos. Sometimes it can take years for that to happen, but the price never drops from what I've seen.

The talk of Halloween reminded me. The neighborhood I grew up in is still good but now you have niggers dropping their broods of niglets off in the white neighborhoods to get candy now. And many of them are usually a few years too old and just take the whole bowl if you leave it out. Fucking niggers.
Another place I've been that is still happening on Halloween and has block parties and everybody is friendly and white is a gated community that my friend lives in in Florida close to Fort Lauderdale. Houses start over $1m there now but kids actually do roam the neighborhood and you don't have niggers and beaners crashing your neighborhood Halloween parties. It's pretty cool they setup dj's and have block parties there too. It was like that in my neighborhood when I was a kid, people left their doors unlocked and you could go watch TV at someone elses house (they had a big screen). Now it's a lot of empty nesters and unfortunately jeets have started showing up. Until about 5 years ago it was 99% white with one former military nig who keeps his lawn and house immaculate.
Here it is still a heavily white, wealthy neighborhood, with only one road in and out on a mountain which isolates us. It's just weird I never see anyone outside on weekends except dog walkers. Never see or hear kids playing. Yet I drive by the elementary school every morning on the way to work and the playground is packed with kids. I guess they are all inside on their phones now or are hanging out somewhere else, but I never see kids downtown either. It's like a Twilight Zone episode.

Shell stations. The neighborhoods have more and more homes with 6 or more cars parked outside of them- that means multiple adults or families living in them. That means they're renting them. The chicken plants nearby? Owned by Tyson, or Koch. They won't even hire locals anymore- they import immigrants to pay them less. The same thing goes for the farmland- nobody here owns any of it.
