This was of course quickly coopted by the very people they consider to be the source of these problems, as a way to disingenuously profess oneself to be an ally by paying lipservice to causes you don't believe in, especially after George Floyd made performative chimpouts and virtue-signalling for black issues vogue. This in turn was quickly coopted by intersectional post-structuralist activists and academics to insert all forms of race, culture and gender identity politics no matter how absurd or inane. Basically a million pet political issues, real or imagined, piggybacking off the death of a black guy because they lack the legitimacy to mobilize a disinterested populace otherwise, but under the guise of a wider movement they can threaten and browbeat any well-meaning idiot into paying lipservice to their cause "or else you hate black people"
