This is probably true for most people you interact with. They get that you have whatever issue you have and don't hate you for it, but they still see you as you are (a man) rather than as you wish you were.

Would it be the right thing to do to encourage a person to modify his or her body to change skin tone or features to mimic the race they feel more in tune with even though it goes against their natural body? I think we all know the answer is no.

If people with autistic traits are more vulnerable to identity issues in general I fear that encouraging body modification with gender would be equally problematic as encouraging body modifications for race or other identity issues.

But telling a man who is more feminine or a woman who is more masculine they need to tranisition to the opposing gender, isn’t this in actuality reinforcing societal gender norms in a dangerous way?
