Now they can stay on one location, drill as many wells as they need to in half the time it used to take. Another recent recent trend is adding bitcoin mining equipment on these sites as the electricity needed is free using the captured nature gas from the wells. The frigid North Dakota winters and mild summers are the perfect climate for the miners to operate full throttle as cooling needs are minimized. This is generating even more funds for all parties involved while satisfying the states requirement for capturing gasses.
