GTA: SA was a laugh. IV might have been fun on release but it doesn't hold up except... except for some of the attention they put into ordinary objects like water barrels interacting with bullet-holes and such. That shows some care. Rockstar kind of kept up that mentality with Red Dead.

The series took what early GTA did right and cranked it up to 11, and while it lacked the "reality" of GTA, it drew the attention of Rockstar who decided to go in the opposite direction.

Just bought GTA IV CE 3 days ago on Steam. It's on sale for like $4.50. I just remembered playing this the pirate way back then and thought it was just ok. I also always thought this game is inferior to GTA V and it's just millenials and Xoomers sperging anything old > new but man I was wrong shit got me hooked right off the bat. Now, I tried replaying GTA V but couldn't get past after that nigger Franklin's first mission (stealing a car lol) and then I uninstalled it right away. GTA V felt soulless compared to this, playing it again is so unnecessary unlike GTA IV.

Also I really don't get how half the people here have performance issues with the game on PC. Even before installing a bunch of performance tweaking mods, it runs fine for me.
