We did get the 80 series. I had a 96 on 35s, it was sick. Looking for a clean one with a blown motor to put an ls in, but the prices have gotten crazy. Currently have a built out 4Runner. Toyota trucks are cash. Sucks we don’t get the diesels though, I want a diesel but I don’t need something as big as a 1 ton truck.

Toyota diesel land cruisers and Hiluxes are the best general purpose light trucks ever built. We have (had, before emissions) good diesels but they’re all in gigantic long wheel base trucks because of CAFE standards. We have no regular size diesel trucks that are comparable to the Aussie trucks. Watch 4wd 24/7 on YouTube they have some sick landcruisers and patrols. I need a pick up to tow occasionally but I also like to go innawoods and go wheelin. Big American diesel can tow but is too big to take in the woods, a jeep can go on trail but can’t tow. In the middle is the Aussie diesel 70 series. I’d buy one tomorrow if I could.

I had a 80 series with the inline 6. Have a yoked out GX470 that I run as fast on gravel as I can. Toyota/Lexus is superior to Rover. Rover has gotten so shitty that someone built the Brigadier to cater to the Rover crowd. Love the GX.
