The minimum wage is that low because immigrants are more than happy to work for it. Immigration is why wages aren't going up.

It gives the states freedom to decide their own minimum wage. What's the problem with that? Simply refuse to work for an employer who pays you less than your labor is worth.

Migrant workers and those asylum seekers granted asylum and work permits are paid the minimum wage or close to it in factories, meat packing plants, agricultural work, etc.

people at the bottom don't have that choice. so what happens is they work for a sub-livable wage and collect gibs. the taxpayer subsidizes the life of the low paid employee who collects gibs while corporations and shareholders see increased profits from sub-livable wage expense.

New minimum wage should be $100 per hour.
New maximum wage should be $200 per hour.

$7.25/h is not much even here, can't imagine surviving on that in the US.

My friends, the facade of freedom and democracy are coming down. We are in a process to transform from a republican government into a neo-feudalist world order where people that have thenmost capital will monopolize everything and everyone else will be serfs and peasents. This will be a much more primitive world order which is akin to Europe after the Western Roman Empire was collapsed. Lower minimum wage is better.

In the US, a comfy lifestyle requires 4-5x minimum wage so in a place like Arkansas where minimum wage is $7.25/hr, with $35/hour you can live quite well.

In a place like California where minimum wage is $20 or whatever, the job that pays $35 in Arkansas pays about $40 which is 2x minimum wage so you need a roommate to get the household income up to 4x to not be poor.

Never worked for minimum wage which is fun because my parents did nothing to help me and I went to hundreds of places and was rejected by all of them so I was broke until I aid fuck it ditched uni and went abroad and started charging people 40 per hour for English lessons. It's like being set up to fail. My family is rich too. I got nothing.

I believe some servers get paid less I'm assuming it's this group "1.1% of workers get paid the federal minimum wage or about 81,000 workers, 789,000 workers had wages below the federal minimum" but I'm sure it doesn't include tipped income or it could be like volunteers or young workers (like 13-16, they usually get paid less)
