It's not white exclusive to whites, east asians (japs, chinks, viets) are into it too. Also jews are working to ruin fishing relentlessly, with the ever increasing cost of licenses, and the new bullshit regulations being created to ruin the experience, and limit the amount caught that one could bring home (jews try to make caught fish cost the full market price). Add to this the risk of pollution, such as birth control piss of women that sewege treatment plants can't filter out, aquatic life soaks that up. Add to that possible industrial pollution. So this hobby, mode of catching food is no longer reliable, at least not until society falls, plus some decades (though the degrading infrastructure will still poison the waters continously).

Not worth the effort, fresh bait is still cheap (always will be). Also you don't need to use gross bait, you can just use corn, or bread ball, I even caught carps with fake corn made out of colored floating plastic (yellow, orange, red). Guess the only advantage of worms that you can occasionally hook a hungry carnivore fish, like a zander, pike, or a larger catfish, but it's better to fish for everything with specialized gear.

I fish plastics for bass and worms for African catfish and tilapia. Worm fishing is much cheaper. DNR always likes to come looking for me when I'm out trail fishing, I think they just like getting out of the car for a while but it's annoying and I always busy their balls.

African catfish are easy to catch, I caught a few with earth worms when I was a child, because for a couple of years in the early 2000s african catfish were released into some smaller lakes seasonally (any that remained uncaught by winter died though). One of those was my largest, longest fish while I was a child, only started catching heavier fish after fishing for carp-s as an adult.

I meant the specialised gear, that if you want a carnivore like a pike, you preferably have a bit of metal after your hook, so you don't risk it's teeth cutting the line (happens if you gear to catch zander with live bait, such as little fish, because zander-s are more willing to take the bait, if you use a very thin line). Same with artificial lures, there are specified ones that you use for zander, specified ones that you use for pike, for zander you use cheap stuff, tiny light colored rubber, with thin line, but for pike you can use thick line, metal front, and fancier lures (wobler-s) because less of a risk losing it to underwater foliage due to stronger line, and safe for pikes due to the metal line at the front.
