I once quit a job because the head told me to my face that she could teach a better physics lesson than me. She was a dance teacher. She insisted my problem was that I was cooped up in a science lab and she was going to timetable me in a dance studio to "get the kids moving, they can use particles as balloons." And this was a fucking sixth form college.
I was an NQT with another teacher who literally spent half her lessons crying in a cupboard. The kids used to take photos of it and put it on Facebook (back when they used such things). The same year I left, she was promoted to head of department. She still cried in the cupboard.
These people are utterly insane. I left the profession and haven't regretted it since.
