Some of these fucks are trying to sell a "premium" brand of icecream for $10 for 500/ml and it's made with even worse fucking ingredients than a $4 2L tub. It's genuinely outrageous. I've even seen $12 for 450ml. Whoever buys that is really a stupid fuck.
I only buy hagen daz basic flavors. Very heavy, thick, dense icecream that's not jam packed with a bunch of fillers that make the icecream 80% air. Even some of their special flavors like caramel or strawberry shortcake have pretty clean ingredients. Though I have noticed that their new flavors almost all have basedbean oils in their ingredients list. You'd figure that for a company that frames itself as good quality icecream, wouldn't be using garbage quality ingredients like that. Lot's of these companies don't understand that lots of people are willing to pay a bit more for good quality ingredients. Why would I pay a premium for slop that I can get for much cheaper? I emailed them about it but they just sent me a standard corpo email response where they said they'll look it into (aka do nothing).
I wish companies would just put out two brands: premium quality (that is ACTUALLY made with good ingredients) that costs more, and then a pleb slop default option for the poors.

I love DQ but it absolutely cannot thrive in a high cost environment. The ice cream is poor quality at best and is best enjoyed as a cheap treat. When inflation forces it too high, then higher quality chains like cold stone start to wine. I'm not spending 6$ on a medium vanilla cone that tastes like ass when I can get the same the at cold stone.
Go to a LOCAL area and you can get a DA come for what it was intended for $3 or less.
